Searching for something beautiful
Something as pure as you were
Malaina
From the moon I can see your smile
Malaina
Oh my love
As I become the silence I'm vanishing
A faded visage of someone
That I once was
Ever so colorless
Are the deepest shades of this
Wrap safe within these broken arms
A million strides
Against the impending storm
How white noise stirs for tears that burn
This moment breathes such weakening
Malaina
From the moon I can see your smile
Malaina
Oh my love
My beautiful
The song "Malaina" by Keiko speaks of a person whispering the name of their loved one, searching for something pure and beautiful. The name "Malaina" is repeated throughout the song as a symbol of the person's love and admiration for their significant other. The first two lines convey the singer's desire to find something as pure as their loved one. The singer relates the beauty they see in their loved one's smile to the moon.
The third stanza moves to a more personal and introspective tone. The singer portrays themselves as vanishing into silence and becoming a faded visage of their past self. The fourth line, "Ever so colorless," draws attention to the singer's feeling of emptiness and depression. The following lines describe them as "broken" and "striving" against a "storm" - more descriptions of their emotional state.
The final stanza talks about the overwhelming emotions felt in moments of heartbreak. The white noise may be the sound of the singer's mind trying to soothe their emotions, and the tears that come with such heartbreak may be so strong as to make a person physically weak. Despite it all, the singer repeats the name "Malaina," as a reminder of their love and admiration for their partner.
