Hear Me
Kelly Clarkson Lyrics

Hear me
Hear me

You gotta be out there
You gotta be somewhere
Wherever you are
I'm waiting (oh)
'Cause there are these nights when
I sing myself to sleep
And I'm hopin' my dreams
Bring you close to me
Are you listening?

Hear me, I'm cryin' out, I'm ready now
Turn my world upside down, find me
I'm lost inside the crowd, it's getting loud
I need you to see, I'm screaming for you to please
Hear me
(Hear me)
(Hear me)
Can you hear me?
(Hear me, oh)

I used to be scared of
Letting someone in
But it gets so lonely
Being on my own
No one to talk to
And no one to hold me
I'm not always strong
Oh, I need you here
Are you listening?

Hear me, I'm cryin' out, I'm ready now
Turn my world upside down, find me
I'm lost inside the crowd, it's getting loud
I need you to see, I'm screaming for you to please
Hear me

I'm restless and wild
I fall, but I try
I need someone to understand (can you hear me?)
I'm lost in my thoughts
And baby, I've fought
For all that I've got
Can you hear me?

Hear me, I'm cryin' out, I'm ready now
Turn my world upside down, find me
I'm lost inside the crowd, it's getting loud
I need you to see, I'm screaming for you to please
Hear me
Hear me, hear me, hear me
Can you hear me?
Hear me, hear me, hear me
Can you hear me? Oh, oh no

Hear me

Overall Meaning

The song “Hear Me” by Kelly Clarkson is a plea for a lover or a potential lover to hear the singer’s cries for help. The song starts off with the singer admitting that she knows that there must be someone out there for her, somewhere, but she just hasn’t found him yet. She spends her nights singing herself to sleep, hoping that the man she’s meant to be with will somehow hear her voice and be drawn to her. The chorus is a desperate call for him to come find her, as she’s lost in the crowd and needs him to see her, to hear her singing out for him.

In the second verse, the singer admits that she used to be afraid of letting someone into her life, but now she’s so lonely that she’s craving that human connection. She needs someone to talk to, someone to hold her, someone who will be there for her when she’s not feeling strong. She’s restless and wild, but she’s also fought hard for everything she has. The bridge is a plea for the listener to understand her, to hear her in her thoughts, and to be with her through anything.

Overall, “Hear Me” is a call for help, a plea for a lost and lonely woman who’s crying out for someone to hear her and to help her through her struggles.

on Since U Been Gone

This song resonates with me the most right now since as recent as last Sunday, I was set free from a relationship with a man like this.

Here's the thing, we started out friends
It was cool but IT WAS ALL PRETEND [on HIS part]

HOW COME I'D NEVER HEAR YOU SAY
"I just wanna be with you"?
Guess YOU never felt that way [(But HE expected me to feel that way)]

Such an amazing song!
