I don't enjoy typical romantic symbols, like Shakespeare's romantic works, actor Ryan Gosling known for his romantic roles, or cakes with traditional white frosting.

I don't like cheesy, cliche signs of love, like getting matching tattoos with significant others.

I don't fit in with typical cultural norms like the tradition of giving your significant other a letterman jacket to display affection.

I'm not swayed by overused cliches of amour such as eyes holding stars and hearts skipping beats - I know it's all metaphorical, and would rather be realistic instead of romanticized.

I will always care for you, regardless of whether I follow conventional expectations of songs or declarations of love.

I don't subscribe to convention with everything, and therefore don't appreciate when love is boiled down to simple, rhyming phrases.

They say I got the right one so now I should write one
Because I'm in a happy relationship, people expect me to write love songs, but I don't believe in doing that.

But I'd rather just show you tonight
Instead of trying to put my feelings for you into a love song, I will prefer to display my affection through other small acts of affection tonight.
