<… Read Full Bio ↴Kelsey Waldon is an American singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN.
Kelsey Waldon is so hip that her entire life can be viewed through the vintage tones of an instagram photo. Listen to her songs and you'll immediately feel like your pants are too baggy and wonder why your shirt hasn't previously been owned. Armed with undeniable talent and an intense love of her craft, Kelsey is a rare and incredibly refreshing artist; an emerging force of raw, honest, and grounded songwriting in the Nashville music scene. Having collected and absorbed more records than most people will hear, and drawing influence from songwriting greats such as Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young, she has an exceptional ability to evoke an older and often seemingly forgotten era of songwriting, while simultaneously creating a relevant, cutting edge, and unique style, true to her own experience. Originally from Barlow, Kentucky, Kelsey is now living in Nashville full time, where she was accepted into (and now completed) Belmont University’s prestigious songwriting program. Kelsey’s music, like her spirit, is both charismatic and infectious, and to hear her is to experience the world through the inspired eyes of a strong young woman, ready to take on the world, and not afraid to stand out.

Workin' the ground, pace like a dog in a pound
And you still only get so far
And I'd do it again, even if I didn't know how...
I'd learn how to make my own fire burn to be knowin' is to know how
I'd find how to make my own sun shine to be knowin' what I know now
I'd do it anyhow
When the moon hangs low and you still don't know where you're gonna be tomorrow
Maybe ride it out, take the long way around
Don't have to beg, steal or borrow
You just do it again, cause when you need it, you find out how
Even if you didn't know how to make the air move you're gonna make that wind blow somehow Even if the world crumbles at your feet
You're gonna pick up that earth somehow
And you know that now
You do it anyhow
To be knowing is to know how, there's no turning back now Keep your nose on the grindstone, and you're hand on the plow
And do it anyhow, do it anyhow
When the fire burns low and the ash starts to glow
And a flame can't kill the sorrow
Maybe ride it out, take the long way around
Don't have to beg, steal or borrow
Kelsey Waldon's song "Anyhow" is a song about perseverance, resilience, and self-discovery. The song addresses the struggles and challenges of finding one's place in the world, the search for identity, and the continuous effort to keep moving forward despite the obstacles. The opening lines describe a moment of difficulty when everything feels overwhelming, and it seems impossible to figure out who you are. However, the singer finds the determination to keep going, even if they don't know how to do it perfectly. The verses are filled with imagery that underscores this theme of perseverance, including pacing like a dog in a pound, finding a way to make your own fire burn and make your own sun shine.
