Redemption
Kenny Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm a hero out on this road
Where the white line keeps on moving and I chase it where it goes
It's dark in the morning and its dark at night
Time just seems to go

She only called me one time today
Told me she loved me and then asked if I was ok
The more I'm away the more she has to say
The more she has to say the more I pull away

Its been a long December and I don't know why
All I ever do is think all the time
Will this solitude every really let me out
Oh, will this solitude every really let me out

The match strike will burn down to my fingertips
The red wine will drip down from my lips
My middle-aged views of everything that's wrong or right
Like a ghost out in a graveyard I'm looking for a fight
You can find me
Somewhere on redemption road

The shadows of the white birch tee
The warm sun behind me lights up everything
The twisted turns and the twisted burns that this life brings
In the space that lies between us babe we find out everything

The match strike will burn down to my fingertips
The red wine will drip down from my lips
My middle-aged views of everything that's wrong or right
Like a ghost out in a graveyard

I'm looking for a fight
You can find me somewhere on redemption road

Overall Meaning

In Kenny's song Redemption, the lyrics describe the life of a traveler on the road. He is always on the move, chasing the white line, and the days and nights blend together. The loneliness and distance have affected his relationship with a loved one, as he pulls away from her the more she tries to connect with him. The song also portrays the struggle of finding meaning in life and questioning whether the isolation he faces will ever let him out.

The chorus repeats with two stanzas emphasizing the same set of words that give the song its title - "redemption road." The metaphorical interpretation of the phrase is the search for redemption or self-forgiveness for past mistakes, while the literal interpretation is the life of a traveler on the road. The song's final verse describes the beauty and wonder of nature that the traveler experiences on his journey.

I feel for the guy dressed like Eddy (Kenny is his name?)

Eddy is favorite character of mine too. He's the reason I started playing Tekken when Tekken 3 came out. (I was thrilled they put a respectable non stereo typical cool black guy into the game)

However over the years it's been been proven true what Max said at the beginning. Eddy, as well as everybody else who ain't a Mishima are just side characters.

In addition, I feel that the development team working on Tekken are....done. It's like they don't care anymore. The story mode felt poorly executed and lazy.(some content was even cut out).

Tekken 7 is fun to play, because of the flawlessly tuned combat, but seems incomplete right now.

To be fair though, I don't remember the last time Tekken ever truly respected any character of theirs outside of the Kazama/Mishima family. Even staple characters like the Williams sisters had some humiliating moments, and don't even get me started on what they did to Paul; guy went from being the potential Ken Masters of the series to the Dan Hibiki.

Azazel

they dont even respect asuka bro, they want to be over with mishmia bloodline feud so they can start other characters story, but its too late for that :(

@ニュージーランド・スイサイド Wasn't it confirmed at one point that Leo was a girl and then they retconned it so Leo is whatever?

Idk ever since TTT2, Leo has always been a girl for me, also for personal reasons
