Fall in Love
Kenny Chesney Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

A little country church on a two lane road
A bride and groom coming out the door
White lace dress and a red bouquet
Just married written on a blue Chevrolet

Don't that make you want to fall in love
Don't that look like a picture of us
A match made in heaven if there ever was
Don't that make you want to fall
That just makes me want to give you my heart
Ever forever needs a place to start
Gotta be a sign from up above
Don't that make you want to fall in love

Old folks sittin' in a front porch swing
Still holdin' hands like they were sixteen
Fifty good years they're a lover's dream
Darlin' that could be you and me

Don't that make you want to fall in love
Don't that look like a picture of us
A match made in heaven if there ever was
Don't that make you want to fall
That just makes me want to give you my heart
Ever forever needs a place to start
Gotta be a sign from up above
Don't that make you want to fall in love

Yeah, yeah.
Don't that make you want to fall in love

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Kenny Chesney's song "Fall In Love" tell the story of the beauty and simplicity of love. The song paints a vivid picture of a newlywed couple leaving a little country church on a two-lane road. The bride and groom are dressed in a white lace dress and a red bouquet, respectively, as they drive away in a blue Chevrolet with the words "Just married" inscribed on its surface. The imagery of this moment invites listeners to remember their own romantic experiences and to appreciate the innocence and sweetness of newly found love.

The lyrics go on to describe an old couple sitting on a front porch swing, still holding hands like they were sixteen. The couple has spent fifty good years together, and the singer suggests that this could be the future of the listener and their significant other. The chorus then repeats the opening lines, asking if the listeners are moved to fall in love themselves, to give their hearts fully to another person, and to believe in the possibilities of fate conspiring to bring two people together. The song's message is clear: love is a beautiful thing that is worth the risk, and anyone can find it if they are open to the possibility.

This is such a great feel good 90's country tune! One of the first ones I remember ever hearing from him. He still puts out a good song every now and then, but I really miss this Kenny when he was full of twang.

@amandagray424

jscountrygirl85 I think back then he was who he had to be to make it.

@michaeledge3068

The twang is definitely fake it's completely absent on his remixed version
