1. Istanbul-based instrumental progressive rock band KES is the new kid on the block in the instrumental rock music’s world.
KES was formed in 2012 by Mehmet Demirdelen (Drums), Cenk Turanlı (Bass) and Emre Kula (Guitar), who met as students at Istanbul’s Yildiz University’s School of Music. Listening to KES, the flow, funk and friendship between these talented musicians immediately becomes clear. Having recorded the album live certainly aided its high level of energy.
The progressive rock audience will appreciate the musical craftsmanship of the album – drums, bass, guitar and their intricate arrangements catch the listener right away. From the first beats to the last notes, this is an album made by musicians with a capital M.
In an album review by Geoff Barton in Classic Rock Magazine, KES is being described as “inspired by the dark, jagged power of Meshuggah and Tool” and “strongly recommended”, stating that “these young Turks will surely make waves outside their home country soon.”
With Kamlama, KES does an impressive job in showing where instrumental progressive rock music could be going in the years to come. Not surprisingly, it’s been said that KES is one of the best things that happened in Turkish rock lately. It’s hard to disagree.
Kamlama was recorded live in January 2014 at Maslak 1024 Studios by Murat Gülbay and Cem Ömeroğlu. Selim Demirdelen shot the first music video for the track Hak.
KES has played countless concerts and festivals in Turkey and will be touring Germany and Switzerland with 10 concerts between December 2016 – January 2017. In addition to the group’s recent tour, KES will be taking stage in New York in early 2017 and is invited to perform at the Austin Instrumental Music Festival on February 25th, 2017.
2. Melbourne, Australia - Karl Scullin - former member of Bird Blobs, Mum Smokes. Scullin's guitar work often pulls obtuse shapes and places them in a distinctly playful way amidst the signature balance of his effortless knack for melodic song structures and exhilaratingly abrasive turns.
3. Kes or Kes the Band is a Trinidadian soca band formed in 2005 by brothers, Kees (lead vocals), Hans (drums) and Jon Dieffenthaller (guitar) and close friend Riad Boochoon (bass guitar). All of them are alumni of Presentation College, San Fernando in Trinidad & Tobago, as is well-known soca artiste Machel Montano. Noted for high energy live performances and the soulful voice of lead singer, Kees, the band has captured the hearts of many. It has become one of the most popular and sought after bands in Trinidad and Tobago and also throughout the Caribbean, US and Canada.
4. Japanese artist associated with Pan Pacific Playa group/label.

为英雄欢呼
LET'S SAY HELLO
LET'S SAY HELLO 我们一起加油
飚出青春这把火
看汗水在流 沸腾了你我之间的梦
挡不住的酷 燃烧着帅气的节奏
勇气在天空中穿梭 骄傲在胸口
不论你来自哪里 跟我一起飞
LET'S SAY HELLO 做我的朋友

In Kes's song "Hello", the singer is expressing his admiration for a woman he sees on the dancefloor. He is drawn to her because of her "ting" (slang for something special or attractive) and the way she moves. Her exact origins are unknown to him, but he doesn't need to know that to be attracted to her. The chorus is a repetitive hello, a greeting, that he uses to get her attention. The first two lines of the chorus are introspective, suggesting his own hesitation, while the second two lines are directed at the woman herself.
Kes then invites the woman to come his way and show him her moves. He wants her to roll up her waist and "show me that wine," encouraging her to dance sensually with him. He continues to compliment her, saying "gyal ah love how de way you blow my mind" and "hold me tight and bring dat wine." Kes implores the woman to give him that "sweet type of love" and promises to hold her all night.
The song is upbeat and promotes dancing and having a good time. It is a celebration of attraction and physical chemistry. Kes uses Caribbean slang and dialect, which adds to the song's playful and carefree nature.
