I Remember
Kev.O Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Time flies, it's been a long while
I can't believe that we meet again
I never thought you'd remember me as well
You made those days feel like paradise
We never felt so wild and brave
Back then we were so young and fool instead
I can't believe, I didn't see
You felt the same way that I did
Maybe we're not meant to be
I still remember you far away
I knew that it had come to an end
The moments that we shared together every now and then
With you I felt I could be myself
You always put a smile on my face
Never let those memories with you just fade away
Time flies, it's been a long while
A part of me wants to turn back time to
That time and place when you made me feel alive
I got to say that I was into you
You said to me that you liked me too
We were just so innocent and fool
I can't believe, I didn't see
You felt the same way that I did
Maybe we're not meant to be
I still remember you far away
I knew that it had come to an end
The moments that we shared together every now and then
With you I felt I could be myself
You always put a smile on my face
Never let those memories with you just fade away
There's nothing to do, we are not the same
We did follow different ways
I still remember you far away
And I knew that it had come to an end
The moments that we shared together every now and then
With you I felt I could be my best

You always drew a smile on my face
Never let those memories with you just fade away

Overall Meaning

The song "I Remember" by Kev.O is an emotional ballad about nostalgia and lost love. The singer reflects on a past relationship that was full of fun and excitement, but ultimately didn't work out. The lyrics express regret and longing for the past, while acknowledging that time and circumstances have changed.

The first verse sets the tone for the rest of the song, as Kev.O expresses disbelief at seeing his former lover again after so much time has passed. He remembers the way she made him feel during their time together, describing it as paradise. However, he also acknowledges that they were young and foolish back then and that their relationship may not have been meant to last. Throughout the song, he reflects on the moments they shared and the impact they had on him, expressing a desire to relive those moments once again.

The chorus is where Kev.O's emotions really come through. He remembers his former love as someone who made him feel alive and made him smile. He's grateful for those memories and doesn't want them to fade away. However, he also realizes that they are no longer the same people and that their paths have diverged. While he may wish to turn back time and rekindle their relationship, he knows that's impossible.

Overall, "I Remember" is a heartfelt ode to a lost love and the memories that remain. The lyrics are simple but effective, capturing the wistful and bittersweet emotions that come with nostalgia. The song's slow tempo and minimal instrumentation allow Kev.O's vocals to shine, making it a powerful and emotional track that's sure to resonate with anyone who's experienced a similar kind of loss.

Don't think I've ever seen a commercial that sums up what it means to be a sports fan like this one does.  These little moments, that we'll remember years later in our lives, that brought us and those around us a little bit of joy.  I'm not even a Celtics fan and it gives me goosebumps.

KG’s jersey is gonna be retired in a few days. I hope they play this Badfinger song during the ceremony. This is one of the best Celtics commercial ever. Congrats Big Ticket!
