@@DivineLightPaladinI only worry when changing strings on a floating trem because the string can pop off the saddle. Way more intense than breaking while tuning up. But in a playing position breaking a string shouldn't hurt.

It doesnt, but if you will hold violin higher, you wil have more reach with your fingers and hand, so if you want to play clean super hight notes, every violinist must do this (and btw it is not a trick)

@Sheeeesk 5 sometimes it helps you reach higher shifts faster bc gravity helps with the sliding and holding it up higher helps you reach with fingers easier. also your contact point for high notes is sometimes better if you raise it up. not to mention moving in general helps you loosen up, which is good in general for faster playing. but you still have to have practiced the fast parts properly lol

It was prob. meant as a joke, but it does. Having the violin down makes you have to work against gravity to bring bow to a stable contact point near the bridge. Also makes you work harder in shifting.

Putting your violin higher is akin to riding a bicycle downhill ie your fingers have gravity working For them rather than against. And. At same time the violin back lifted off the body/neck, shoulder allows more of it to vibrate more freely. Very well done!!!
