PARADE
Kevin Morby Lyrics

I know you find out, now you find out who you are
And if you come to search for what is lost
I know you find it, I know you find it at any cost
And if you come over far,
Never I'd touch you or ever do you harm
And if you come oh so soft
You may look up one day and you'll be heard
If I were to die today,
Slaughtered in that masquerade
The last thing that you'd hear me say
Put my body on display
In the PARADE
Passing slowly through the town
My feet taking I, touch the ground
Of the PARADE
All my friends were there
Waiting on me
All the glory was there
Waiting on me
And I was there
Waiting on me
I've come my way home
Just to stay in
If I were to die today,??? in that great charade
The last thing that you'd hear me say
Is bury me in different shapes
Of the PARADE
Passing slowly through the town
My feet taking I, touch the ground
Going up, you go but I just found
Never leave this, never leave this town
Of the PARADE
The song “Parade” by Kevin Morby emphasizes on some of the major themes of life including identity, finding oneself, searching for something that is lost and the inevitability of death. The opening verse where Morby sings, “If you come to find out who you are, I know you’ll find out, now you’ll find out who you are” portrays the search for our identity which is a lifelong quest. Morby emphasizes on this theme by stating that if we search for what we have lost, we will eventually find it even if it comes at any cost. The chorus “If I were to die today, Slaughtered in that masquerade, The last thing that you'd hear me say, Put my body on display, In the PARADE” portrays the inevitability of death, something we all will have to face one day.
The final verse of the song “All my friends were there, Waiting on me, All the glory was there, Waiting on me, And I was there, Waiting on me, I've come my way home, Just to stay in” reminds us of the importance of relationships in our lives. In the end, no matter how successful we become, it is our relationships that matter the most. Morby is saying when he dies, he wants his friends and loved ones to celebrate his life in the PARADE. The mournful, slow tempo of the guitar amplifies the seriousness and depth of the themes that the song encompasses, making it a meditative piece that reminds us to cherish every moment of our lives with the people we love.

If you come to find out who you are
If you come seeking knowledge of your true self
I know you find out, now you find out who you are
You will indeed discover your identity
And if you come to search for what is lost
If you come seeking something that you've lost
I know you find it, I know you find it at any cost
You will find it, no matter what it takes
And if you come over far,
And if you travel from afar
Never I'd touch you or ever do you harm
I'd never cause you any harm
And if you come oh so soft
And if you come peacefully and gently
You may look up one day and you'll be heard
One day, you'll be noticed and recognized
If I were to die today,
If I were to perish today
Slaughtered in that masquerade
Killed in a false, deceptive environment
The last thing that you'd hear me say
My final words would be
Put my body on display
Show my body openly
In the PARADE
Part of the procession
Passing slowly through the town
Slowly moving through the streets
My feet taking I, touch the ground
My feet touching the earth beneath me
All my friends were there
All of my friends were present
Waiting on me
Anticipating my arrival
All the glory was there
All the splendor was present
I've come my way home
I have returned to where I belong
Just to stay in
Just to remain there
Is bury me in different shapes
Inter me in various forms
Going up, you go but I just found
Others may progress upward, but I have discovered something
Never leave this, never leave this town
Never depart from this place
Of the PARADE
Of the procession

Not that Bojack can't be tangled up in that artificial lifestyle that is celebrity culture, but overall yeah I agree. Ironically it's more about the human experience, rather than a satirical look at Hollywood. While it is a satire of celebrity culture, and does some pretty good jabs at it.
Ryan Ce crest Type: Are you at all worried that audiences will grow bored and abandon you for the next sexy thing?
While quotes like this stick out the most.
Bojack: My point is I don't understand how people live, Its amazing to me that people can wake up every morning and say "Yeah, another day, let's do it." How do people do it? I don't know how.
Princess Carolyn: Yaaaaay! nervous claping

If you come to find out who you are
May you find out, may you find out who you are
And if you come to search for what is lost
Then may you find it, may you find it at any cost
And if you come over from far
May it not touch you or ever do you harm
And if you come oh so soft
You may look up one day and you'll be hard
If I were to die today
Slaughtered in that masquerade
The last thing that you'd hear me say
Put my body on display
In the parade
Passing slowly through the town
My feet, they can not touch the ground
Of the parade
All of my friends were there
Waiting on me
All the glory was there
Waiting on me
And I was there
Waiting on me
I have come, I will go
Just to stay in
If I were to die today
Puppet in that great charade
The last thing that you'd hear me say
Is bury me in different shapes
Of the parade
Passing slowly through the town
My feet, they can not touch the ground
Go now, you'll go but oh just how
Never leave this, never leave this town

In college I had a partner who died of a disease (meningitis),
I had just seen the chapter of Bojack and this song appeared.
I cried and listened to this song so many times and whenever
I listen to or read this part I remember his funeral or the times
my friends went to the hospital.
"All my friends were there
Waiting on me
All the glory was there
Waiting on me
And I was there
Waiting on me "
It is so hard to move on when you lose a mate.
This year my friends and I graduated .
We always knew how much you loved your career, your family and friends
We will always remember you Marcelo, rest in peace
(Sorry for the English)
