YO WHAT'S GOOD GUYS?! First of, Kevin, you're the fucking man. You actually be my favorite person in Hollywood, if not, you're tied with Keanu Reeves and Terry Crews, and that's saying something. You were the first creator who's name I ever gave a shit about, back when I was a weeeee little lad back in '97! You inspired me to pursue film (I'm now working in the weed industry, also definitely indirectly inspired by you and Jason Mewes! Although I'm planning to shoot some stuff for youtube here soon once I finish the scripts with my buddies).

Anyway, I wanted to thank you both for doing this podcast, I've been binging this podcast for the last couple days (after binging Kevin's other web shows too! Marc, you got anything else you'd recommend I watch?). I'm also seeing Spiderman Saturday because of this episode! And I bought Krypton S2 (got burned out on S1 but S2 is waaaay better imo) after hearing Cameron explain it, so thank you both very much for convincing me to see both of those! Marc, you're a fucking riot, and I'll be supporting your work wherever I can after being introduced to you on this podcast!

Anyway, I wanted to ask; have you guys ever considered doing some shows in other cool states? I know we would LOVE to have you guys do some stuff out here in Colorado, maybe a podcast recording? So if you haven't considered it, food for thought! I'm sure Kevin alone would sell out in minutes, because stoners, but we have a thriving nerd community here, so I assume Marc would also draw a HUGE audience! CHeck out 1Up in Denver, I bet they would host you for free-fiddy, or at least give you a STUPID goo rate. It's a bar centered around arcade games, and they used to do concerts at their second location (no longer though :( ), so it seems ideal for something like a podcast now!

You guys are absolutely inspiring, and after watching you guys just chatting about film, and doing your (awesome) jobs, I'm actually considering finishing my film degree, if not, just starting to make some stuff again! I could watch either of you talk literally all day, so thanks again for all the content, keep up the great work guys!

Kevin, I'm suuuper happy to see you taking better care of yourself, I'm really, really glad you decided to hang around for a while. The world wouldn't be the same without Kevin Smith, and I damn near cried when I heard about your heart attack. So way to fucking BE man!! You look phenomenal, and I'm sorry I gotta say this, but idk if Fatman really applies to you anymore! Keep it up man, you're inspiring a LOT of fans to lose weight, two of my own friends have made major changes in their lives because of what you've done for yourself and your family! One already lost 20lbs, and the other is well on his way!

I think Marvel should bring in Mephisto to make the marvel universe forget what they saw. He has the power to do that, he’s literally done this in one story. Plus this would bring in an extremely powerful, new super villain to the MCU. I mean, Mephisto creates Ghost Rider, faces off against the Fantastic 4, and all sorts of other Super Heroes. This would allow Peter Parker to remain anonymous, and allow Marvel to bring in, literally, anyone they want into the MCU. Plus, I just want to see this powerful demon on the big screen wreaking havoc on the MCU.

Tallos as Fury was also revealed in the scene in Venice when he explains that Misterio is from different Earth. He says, Mr.Beck is from Earth, but not your's.
He says is as if the Earth is not his planet, but Peter's.

Hilarious as always. Loved the gushing over Far From Home. That movie could not deserve it more.

Since you guys were talking about the possibility that the Peter/MJ romance may have felt a touch rushed, there was one other part of Homecoming that foreshadowed how MJ feels about Peter. When she said that Peter was dropping out of or missing other activities then followed immediately with, "not stalking, just observant", or something like that. It definitely tries to clue you in to the fact that she may like him. Plus Far From Home made sure to let you know that Peter started to notice her noticing him, which may have propelled his feelings for her. So there was a good little bit of foreshadowing as far as her feelings for him was concerned.

I gotta say I disagree (as a biracial half black man) about “Why can’t Peter Parker be Black”. There’s a certain thing about something coming from a visual medium that to me predicates honoring the visual nature of the way a character is represented. There’s a little bit of leeway where it can add a new dynamic to making a character black but truly iconic and well established characters like Superman or Spiderman I never want to see just made black. Alternate universe versions sure but I actually feel like not only does it change the character in a way that is to me a bit disrespectful but also isn’t good enough as a source of inclusion. Making a white character black isn’t inclusion it’s lazy to me, I’d rather we lift up black characters that haven’t gotten a chance or create new ones that have that as a part of their dna in their stories (Like Luke Cage and Black Panther) bc that’s a lot more meaningful

I totally agree. Im black, 100% Jamaican , and I hate it when they just do race swaps of old characters and act like they are doing minorites a favor. You can't just swap Spiderman over to being black and act like that fixes anything. Sorry, Miles Morales is NO Spiderman. You have to have him redo over 40 years of Spiderman kicking ass and having adventures to earn the title of Spiderman. EARN it. Just labelling some black kid an cheapens himself, not the original Spiderman. Cant you take some white kid and hand him the heavyweight title, and name him "Mike Tyson" , thinking that will inspire little white kids? It doesnt work that way EARN IT. Make a new original African American superhero and support him fir 30 years. That would do young black kids better service.

Another parallel between SMHC and SMFFH: in SMHC Peter was all about, "when's the next misson" and "I wanna be an Avenger". While in SMFFH we saw Peter's growth and development from the events of Infinity War and End Game because he turned to not wanting to be part of Nick Fury's mission and not believing himself ready to be Tony's replacement.

Re: Sinister Six -I think introducing that many new villains in one film would be a disservice to each of them. Keaton and Gyllenhaal performances, character arcs were serious highlights of these films. Whoever is next to bat as villain deserves the same spotlight. Would love to see Kraven or the Jackal since we haven’t on film yet. Miles Warren could clone Peter to help him with debunking the identity reveal as a set up.

As an Afro-Latinx person born and who lived in Queens reading Spider-Man comic books I appreciated so much seeing a Spider-Man that looked like me. Quick thought - could they make Dmitri character (should be the future Chameleon) be a rogue skrull? The only problem with Marc's Toy Story theory is that it doesn't encompass the full story of the film. It only took pieces of it. He doesn't discuss how ALL the lost toys want to be played with by children. They are all out looking for kids day to day at the parks to be played with. Also the reason Woody leaves Bonnie is a combination of not being played with anymore by Bonnie, Loving Bo Peep, and also wanting to help Toys find children to be with. A Toys purpose is to be with a child and to make them happy. That is why in the credits sequence Bo Peep and Woody are helping the children win Toys. Also Woody and Bo Peep help Gabby Gabby find a child to be with so she and the child can be happy. He glossed over a lot of the main plot to make his theory valid. Idk. I Love Marc. It just seems like he over analyzed Toy Story a bit too much.

The Prague scene... I was surprised how little of Prague there actually was. They shot the square scene in my town Liberec and I have have to say they did a GREAT JOB! Also, the opera scene was shot there too. The building is right behind the town hall.
It is funny how Holland had a whole bunch of body guards in Prague and in Liberec he was drinking in bars willi nillly. 🙂

My favorite foreshadowing in the movie was before Mysterio died Edith tells him he is in the line of fire when he apparently is not , meaning he was already getting next to Spidey for his last resort of shooting him in the head and what we were seeing was as Mysterio was a projection still .

On the MJ/Peter romance, in Homecoming she has that I need scene when the debate club is worrying about Peter, MJ throws out some pretty stalker level facts on Peter and then she says one of my favorite linea "I'm not obsessed, just observant." I think that was a tiny bit of foundation being laid for the future romance.
