The lyrics to Kid Cudi Feat. Jay-Z's Already Home revolve around the idea of success and how it can attract both love and hate. The repeated phrase "You either love me or leave me alone" implies the singer's refusal to compromise on who they are despite external pressure. The chorus emphasizes that the singer has already achieved success and no longer needs validation from others. Jay-Z's verses discuss how other rappers perceive him, asserting that their criticisms are unfounded and that his own level of success places him on a separate "lane" from them.
The lyrics offer commentary on the nature of success and fame, particularly regarding the attention and criticism that come with it. The theme of staying true to oneself and not succumbing to external pressure is reinforced throughout the song, particularly with the repetition of "Already Home," implying that the singer has achieved a sense of inner peace.
One interesting aspect of the song is its use of samples from The Jackson 5's "Never Can Say Goodbye". The melody of the chorus is taken from that song's chorus, and the opening wordless vocalizations are also borrowed.
Another notable feature of the song is its video, which features Kid Cudi and Jay-Z driving through suburban neighborhoods in a classic Cadillac. The video references the film American Beauty and ends with them approaching a basketball court where they join a group of young men playing.
