Perfect is the word*
It's the main thing that the lost souls want
Well not me I know things
Know things
Things that I wish I had not
No worries
It is my destiny to be where I am
Waiting
[Chorus:]
Cuz I don't runaway nah
I don't runaway
Cowards runaway ah
I don't runaway
I won't runaway
Not me baby
I don't runaway
Cowards runaway ah
[Verse 2:]
Sickening is the word
It's the main thing that the lost souls want
Well not me I've seen things
Seen things
Things that I wish I had not
Don't cry for me
It is my destiny to be where I am
I said listen to tic go toc on the bomb
Waiting
[Chorus:]
Cuz I don't runaway nah
I don't runaway
Cowards runaway ah
I don't runaway
I won't runaway
Not me baby
I don't runaway
Cowards runaway ah
[Guitar Solo:]
[Chorus:]
Cuz I don't runaway nah
I don't runaway
Cowards runaway ah
I won't runaway
I won't runaway
Not me baby
I don't runaway
Cowards runaway ah
In Kid Cudi's song "Perfect is the World", he initially starts by acknowledging the superficial desire of people for perfection. However, he quickly clarifies that he doesn't share the same desire as he is aware of things that have made him wish he never learned them. He then declares that he won't runaway like a coward, which seems like a reference to people who are unable to confront their flaws and weaknesses. He talks about his destiny and wanting to listen to the ticking of the bomb while he waits for something to happen.
In the second verse, Kid Cudi uses the word "sickening" to describe the main thing that the lost souls want. This could be interpreted as people wanting to be surrounded by superficially pleasing things, possibly for validation or acceptance from others. He declares that he does not cry for himself and knows where he is meant to be. The song ends with another declaration that he will not runaway - this time, specifically stating that he won't runaway. Overall, the song seems to be a reflection on the pressure to be perfect in society and how Kid Cudi has chosen to confront his fears and weaknesses rather than running away from them.
