Damn this kit is I'll
Gear shiftin', this move is butta
Cut in n out of lanes undercova
Style, wow, my mirror, the rearview
You can never fly by homie, I will see you
Mach 5, change terrains if need be
Seatbelt, really should be strapped on
Not gone when I hit about 50
Trying to break the speed of sound homie
Do you get me
I call the move in the hand
Never speed
A strip of asphalt is all I ever need, all I ever see
When I'm switchin lanes you can hardly see
I'm good, I'm okay, don't worry about it boo boo
I do this all the time, this is my life dude
Vroom Vroom, give me room fool
Chorus
You can catch me, switchin' lanes lanes
Switchin' lanes lanes, switchin' lanes lanes
You can catch me, switchin lanes lanes
Switchin' lanes lanes, switchin' lanes lanes
You can catch me, switchin lanes lanes
Switchin' lanes lanes, switchin' lanes lanes
You can catch me switchin' lanes lanesssss...
Gettin em gettin' em
And we lookin' at dem, lookin' up
With my cool up in the bag,
Top is never up on the mer-cedes,
Four ladies wanna go half on a baby with anybody ready and willin'
I am normally stuntin', and I am currently killin',
My involvment with murder might as well beginin',
And clearly will it catch on? I doubt it
If they ask questions I wont know nothing about it
Being on this side of the law is a ball
Straight west coastin', nothin' Roosevelt doo
We gon act a fool,
Chilly chill for a minute
Uh, I see some french girls
Baby ooo wie wie
I see you smokin oowie
Me and my niggas Zulee
Stick it to the script and I be puffin', puffin' past
Don't break the rules and we'll get along fine
Road trip is steady different from what's keepin' us behind
Chorus
You can catch me, switchin' lanes lanes
Switchin' lanes lanes, switchin' lanes lanes
You can catch me, switchin lanes lanes
Switchin' lanes lanes, switchin' lanes lanes
You can catch me, switchin lanes lanes
Switchin' lanes lanes, switchin' lanes lanes
You can catch me switchin' lanes lanesssss...
Swerve swerve
Gettin gone, gone
Gone go, gone go
Swerve swerve
Den I'm gone go
Gone go gone gone
Swerve swerve
Getting gone, gone
Gone go, gone go
Swerve swerve
Den I'm gone go
Gone go, gone go
You can catch up if you want
I'll be gone gone
And try and catch up if you want
I'll be gone gone
You can catch up if you want, catch up if you want
I'll be gone gone
Chorus
You can catch me, switchin' lanes lanes
Switchin' lanes lanes, switchin' lanes lanes
You can catch me, switchin lanes lanes
Switchin' lanes lanes, switchin' lanes lanes
You can catch me, switchin lanes lanes
Switchin' lanes lanes, switchin' lanes lanes
You can catch me switchin' lanes lanesssss...
In Kid Cudi's song "Switchin Lanes," the artist begins by describing his smooth driving skills, cutting in and out of lanes while remaining under the radar. He boasts about his expertise, claiming he can never be passed by another driver. Cudi emphasizes the importance of safety, reminding listeners to always wear a seatbelt, even when speeding. The artist then switches his focus to the social scene, mentioning the attention he receives from women and discussing his involvement with illegal activities. Throughout the song, he emphasizes the freedom and thrill of living outside the law, encouraging listeners to swerve and go at their own pace.
Overall, the song is primarily about Kid Cudi's personal experiences with driving and his reflections on his lifestyle. The lyrics highlight themes of rebellion, freedom, and living in the moment. Cudi's smooth flow and vibrant beats make the song an enjoyable listen, but it is the message behind the lyrics that ultimately makes it memorable.
