Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Fine, as she wanna be, that girl
Gentle, as she wanna be, that girl
When I sleep at night, I think about, that girl
Where she come from?
She's beautiful, that girl
Oooo oooo that girl (x2)
In my mind, I see her (my dream girl)
In my mind, I meet her (my dream girl)
then, we dance, we dance I wanna keep her (my dream girl)
Yeah yeah that girl
Ayy ohh ohh (x2)
That girl, nice girl
I leave home to see you girl
Remember when I crept through the window (yeah) (x3)
Remember when I snuck in your bedroom (yeah) (x3)
Oh Oh that girl (x2)
In Kid Cudi's song "That Girl," he talks about a girl that he finds strikingly beautiful and gentle. The lyrics convey his deep appreciation and admiration for her. When he sleeps at night, he thinks about her and wonders where she came from. The chorus "ooo ooo that girl" reinforces his infatuation with her. He feels that she is the girl of his dreams and imagines dancing with her. Throughout the song, he celebrates her kindness, beauty, and the positive effect she has on his life.
The verses also suggest a more intimate relationship with the girl. Kid Cudi implies that he crept through her window to see her, and perhaps snuck into her bedroom. These subtle details suggest a secretive and slightly taboo relationship with the girl. It is about more than just her physical beauty; there is an emotional connection that Kid Cudi feels with her.
Overall, "That Girl" is a tender song about a girl that Kid Cudi admires deeply. He celebrates her beauty and personality while also hinting at a deeper connection they share. The lyrics evoke a sense of longing and desire that give the song an emotional weight.

Its funny, when I listen to this song I don’t think about my ex. I only think about that girl in my future. So, one might think this is a sad song but it isn’t for me, it’s a song about hope and finding someone special in your life. A song about love for a lonely optimistic lover
