Letting Go
KiNo Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Came in walking from the rain
Oceans parted me again
Flight of fancy from now on
Seperation only born

If the only thing I see
Will replace the child in me
To become so ignorant
Only wishing heaven sent

But it's you that leaves me here in silence and sadness
And it's you that leaves me far away
But it's you tha leaves me here in silence and sadness
But I want to be next to you

Here I am for all to see
Ocean parted beside me
Disparate and overview
Something here in front of you

If the only thing I see
Comes between both you and me
To remain so ignorant
Only wishing heave sent

But it's you that leaves me here in silence and sadness
And it's you that leaves me far away
But it's you tha leaves me here in silence and sadness
But I want to be next to you

Something here beside the rain
Comes to poison what remains
And it all seems so disperate to me
Burn the church beside the Fifth
And the well that gives the wish
Letting go of the obvious
So obvious to me

Know yourself
Just know yourself
Know yourself
Please know yourself

Letting go
Just let it go

Nothing left for us to be
Burn the bark to leave the tree
Now the heart isn't functional
Stop the nosie inside my head
Wait for velvet coverage
And it still seems to disperate
So disperate to me

Know yourself
Just know yourself
Know yourself
Please know yourself

Letting go
Just let it go

And I'm going to be next to you

Came in walking from the rain
Oceans parted me again...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of KiNo's song "Letting Go" appears to address a theme of separation and the longing to be reunited with a loved one. The opening lines suggest that the singer has just arrived, physically and metaphorically, from a turbulent and isolated place - the rain and the ocean - and on the cusp of something new, which may take them into a realm of possibilities they have only dreamt of - a "Flight of fancy." Yet, the mood in the song is melancholic as the singer indicates that separation has only been born between them.

Further on, the song expresses a sense of regret and sadness that the singer cannot be with their loved one. The chorus conveys the longing the singer has towards their loved one. The line "But it's you that leaves me here in silence and sadness, But I want to be next to you" encapsulates this feeling. The singer ruminates on what will replace the "child in me," but concludes that it will be ignorance. In essence, they want to remain naive and hopeful that heaven will bring them the reunion they long for.

There are also references to poison, burning a church, and letting go of the obvious, which could indicate a desire to shun conventional ways of thinking and action in favour of something that is more informed by personal experience and knowledge. Overall, the lyrics to "Letting Go" is about separation from a loved one and the subsequent longing to be reunited.

Fantastic band....goose bumps, emotional. Everything you want in a band. When you have John Mitchell, and also the bass player from Marillion, and Transatlantic, you know you have a great band! Thanks for downloading these live cuts!

Absolutely incredible song. Because of a recent concert video of John Wetton, I found the guitarist John Mitchell. In turn I found Lonely Robot, then Frost, It Bites, and now Kino. Thank God for YouTube and the internet, or I would never would of found this incredible guitarist! Great band! Can't wait for the new CD in March.
