I'll be there to say what up in the morning
brush my teeth find that clip I been lookin' for since last night
I feel so caught up, in a bud
I floats around in my bedroom
turn around see myself in the mirror I guess I'm cool
And those happy thoughts in my head
I'm feeling like I'm Peter Pan
Happy to see how far I've come to the same place
It began my dreams imaginations
Perfectly at peace so I move along a bit higher
I'll be up up and away, up up and away
Cause they gon' judge me anyway so whatever
I'll be up up and away, up up and away
Cause in the end they'll judge me any so whatever
I learn, I see the dreams are made so I'm cooler now
I could take care of my mom and my little niece Suri
So sing along lil' mama you ain't gotta worry 'bout no drama no,
I provide for friends and fam' and fans Cleveland city we grinding man
stay at flow the kids hope
I never let a motherfucka break me dog
Who gives a fuck if a nigga don't like your steeds
Tell 'em to buzz off your N-U-T's we don't care what people say
dudes who critique your clothes on most day
I ain't gotta wait for no one If I wanna fly I could fly for freedom, hey!
I'll be up up and away, up up and away
Cause they gon' judge me anyway so whatever
I'll be up up and away, up up and away
Cause in the end they'll judge me any so whatever
Wake up wake up wake wake up
Wake up wake up wake wake up, yeah!
Wake up wake up wake wake up (We'll be rollin' on up)
Wake up wake up wake wake up (We'll be rollin' on up)
Wake up wake up wake wake up (We'll be rollin' on up)
Wake up wake up wake wake up (I'll be rollin' on up)
Wake up wake up wake wake up
I'll be up up and away, up up and away
Cause they gon' judge me anyway so whatever
I'll be up up and away, up up and away
Cause in the end they'll judge me any so whatever
I'll be up up and away, up up and away
Cause they gon' judge me anyway so whatever
I'll be up up and away, up up and away
Cause in the end they'll judge me any so whatever
Whatever, so whatever
Whatever, so whatever
The end is never the end.
A new challenge awaits.
A test no man could be prepared for.
A new hell he must conquer and destroy.
A new level of growth he must confront himself.
The machine in the ghost within.
This is the journey of the man on the moon.
Kid Cudi’s “Up Up and Away” is an ode to freedom, positivity and self-empowerment. The first stanza of the song talks about his morning routine- brushing his teeth and searching for something he lost the night before. Cudi describes feeling “caught up in bud” as he floats around his bedroom, finally turning to the mirror and feeling content with himself. He likens himself to Peter Pan, happy and carefree. The second stanza talks about how he has learned to be “cooler” and how his success has allowed him to provide for his loved ones. Cudi encourages the listener to ignore the haters and naysayers and to just be themselves. The chorus of the song is repetitive; he’s going to keep “up up and away” because people are going to judge him anyway, so why not just do what feels right.
In true Kid Cudi style, “Up Up and Away” has a spoken word outro which serves to provide motivational and philosophical inspiration. It speaks of the never-ending journey of self-discovery and personal growth. The end of one challenge leads to another, and a true champion must always be prepared to conquer and destroy these new “hells” that are thrown his way. The machine represents the physical body and the ghost represents the internal spirit- both are integral on this personal journey. The final line about the man on the moon is a nod to Cudi’s first two albums which depict a metaphorical man living on the moon and exploring his own personal struggles.
Overall, this song has an encouraging message of perseverance, self-love and determination. It is a tribute to Cudi’s own personal struggles and to anyone else who has ever faced an uphill battle.

Jacob Morenzoni If you have to preface your comment with "i hate to be that guy" then you should probably shut your fucking mouth and move on. Seriously.
Do you not think that I have to live with the fact the I did a lot of drugs when i was younger? I stopped smoking weed 2 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't wonder if it's done any permanent damage to me. I can't undo the countless bong hits. i can't go back and stop myself from smoking pot, taking mushrooms, mdma or any of the other drugs I've done I just have to live with it.
there's plenty of information out there on pot and some studies completely contradict each other. Some sources claim there's little harm done from smoking weed at any age, others claim massive physiological changes to the brain. Im pretty sure you're not a doctor, a chemist, a neurobiologist so whatever information you can regurgitate isn't any better than what i can offer up.
has it effected me? yes. How much so? I really don't know. Would my memory and general cognitive abilities be better if i hadn't done any drugs? I honestly can't say, I just have to live with it.
thanks for reminding me that you can't come online and reminisce about the simple and stupid days of your youth without some asshole having to chime in and say "ooh buut drugs are bad blah blah blah"

I don't think Cudi will ever truly know what his music has done for his fans. Man deserves so much more. Honestly one of the best artists to have ever been born. He's everyone's best friend and shoulder to lean on.

BURNOUTRS I'd hate to be that guy, but from what I know, smoking at 14 can have some pretty negative effects on brain development.
