The band’s debut EP, E-Pocalypse, was released during their time as an unsigned band in 2006. During this time they garnered a rare and unprecedented amount of press and support from the likes of Kerrang, NME, Big Cheese, Rocksound, Tuned and Total Guitar magazines, as well as BBC Radio 1 and XFM. In a television interview Lostprophets vocalist Ian Watkins claimed that “Relatively unknown bands such as Kids in Glass Houses are a lot better than a lot of known bands out there.”
In August 2007, the band was nominated for “Best British Newcomer” at the Kerrang! Awards, but the group were beaten to the award by Gallows. The band later went on a headline tour of their own with Tonight Is Goodbye, and supported Funeral For A Friend’s December tour, between which they recorded their debut full length. During 2007 the band also supported artists like Lostprophets, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Cute Is What We Aim For, Simple Plan, New Found Glory and 30 Seconds to Mars. The band also appeared at The Full Ponty Festival, Download Festival, Hyde Park Calling, Farnham’s Summer Breeze Festival, Collision Course Festival and the Reading and Leeds Festivals during this year.
The band’s debut studio album, Smart Casual, was released on 19th May 2008. The album spawned singles Fisticuffs, Give Me What I Want, and Easy Tiger.
Kids In Glass Houses released their second album Dirt, on 24th March 2010, along with a digital, special edition of the album on iTunes two days later. The first two singles of the album, Youngblood (Let It Out), and Matters At All, were released prior to the album on 5th October 2009 and on 29th January 2010, respectively. Dirt featured The Saturdays’ Frankie Sandford on the track Undercover Lover and New Found Glory on the track Maybe Tomorrow.
On the 26th February 2014 the band announced via their twitter (@kighofficial) that they would be disbanding, saying it was done "amicably and on our own terms". Their final tour will occur in October 2014. In 2022 they reformed.

Dance All Night
Kids in Glass Houses Lyrics

Take a seat, I'll break that little heart
Make a scene and bite the hand that's feeding
It takes an end to know just where to start
The story goes
That I never learned to listen right
But I know that the only pleasure here was mine
So we dance all night
Yeah we'll be free before the morning light
Singing, I wanna know, I wanna know, know it all
Take a seat, cause now the blind are leading
Take a seat, cause now we're in the dark
Promises from you are not worth believing
If people have their price you're a la carte
The story goes
That you were never gonna treat me right
But I know that the only pleasure here was mine
So we dance all night
Yeah we'll be free before the morning light
Singing, I wanna know, I wanna know, know it all
Yeah we dance all night
Yeah we'll be free before the morning light
Singing, I wanna know, I wanna know, know it all
The story goes
That you were never gonna treat me right
But I know that the only pleasure here was mine
Dance all night
Yeah we'll be free before the morning light
Singing, I wanna know, I wanna know, know it all
Take a seat, I'll tell you how I'm feeling
Take a seat, I'll break that little heart
Take a seat, cause now the blind are leading
They take us from the end back to the start
The lyrics of Kids in Glass Houses’s “Dance All Night” express the desire to break free from the constraints of a toxic relationship and enjoy the fleeting moments of liberation. The first verse invites the listener to sit down and listen as the singer reveals the intentions of breaking their partner’s heart and rebelling from the norm. The line “Make a scene and bite the hand that’s feeding” emphasizes the desire to be free from the expectations of societal norms and the need for the singer to take control of their life. The chorus celebrates the newfound freedom through the act of dancing and the pursuit of knowledge, as the singer wants to know everything and live life to the fullest.
The second verse shifts the focus to the singer’s partner and the realization that they were being led blindly. The line “Promises from you are not worth believing” highlights the partner’s unreliable nature and the singer’s awareness of their manipulative tendencies. The chorus reiterates the desire for freedom and the pursuit of knowledge, with the repetition of “I wanna know, I wanna know, know it all”. The final verse concludes the story of the toxic relationship and the singer’s realization that the only pleasure they received from it was their own, as they dance all night in pursuit of true liberation.
