Eleven Kidz Bop albums have been released to date. Each album features different pop music songs, played with music similar to the original, and with the "Kidz Bop Kids" singing instead of the original artist. Albums are typically released within a few months of each other and thus the songs included tend to be the hit songs of the current time, including such songs such as "Float On" (Modest Mouse), "This Love" (Maroon 5), and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (Green Day).
Although the albums are marketed as being "sanitized" versions of popular songs for children, many of the songs featured on the Kidz Bop albums still contain explicit sexual material, such as Rob Thomas's "Lonely No More," which some people consider inappropriate for younger audiences. Other featured songs, such as "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", contain profanity. Although the albums censor the actual word from the song, the context of the profanity remains. They also covered Green Day's hit "Wake Me Up When September Ends", which is about death.
The Kidz Bop video for their cover of Avril Lavigne's "Sk8r Boi", for instance, features the song being sung by a pre-teen girl in heavy make-up, fishnet stockings, and a Sex Pistols t-shirt.
Let Me Go

Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation
And it looks like I'm the queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried
Don't let them in, don't let them see
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know
Well, now they know
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I'm free
Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You'll never see me cry
Here I stand and here I stay
Let the storm rage on
My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back, the past is in the past
Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
The song Let It Go was written for the Disney animated movie Frozen, and it has become an anthem for people of all ages worldwide. The song is about embracing your true self and letting go of fear, as represented by the movie's main character, Elsa. The song starts by describing a world of isolation, with Elsa being the only one who is there. She sings about keeping her power hidden from others, as she fears that they will reject her if they find out about her abilities.
As the song continues, Elsa realizes that she needs to let go of these fears and embrace her power. She sings about how she is no longer going to hide, and that she is going to let her power out into the world. Elsa sings that she no longer cares what others think of her, and that she is free to be who she truly is. She is ready to test the boundaries of her power and to live without rules or restrictions.
The song's chorus, "let it go," is repeated several times throughout the song, emphasizing the importance of releasing fear and embracing freedom. The final verse of the song sees Elsa embracing her power completely and channeling it into the world around her. She declares that she is never going back to how things were before and that the old version of herself is gone forever. Elsa embraces her true self, and lets her power shine forth.
