Eleven Kidz Bop albums have been released to date. Each album features different pop music songs, played with music similar to the original, and with the "Kidz Bop Kids" singing instead of the original artist. Albums are typically released within a few months of each other and thus the songs included tend to be the hit songs of the current time, including such songs such as "Float On" (Modest Mouse), "This Love" (Maroon 5), and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (Green Day).
Although the albums are marketed as being "sanitized" versions of popular songs for children, many of the songs featured on the Kidz Bop albums still contain explicit sexual material, such as Rob Thomas's "Lonely No More," which some people consider inappropriate for younger audiences. Other featured songs, such as "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", contain profanity. Although the albums censor the actual word from the song, the context of the profanity remains. They also covered Green Day's hit "Wake Me Up When September Ends", which is about death.
The Kidz Bop video for their cover of Avril Lavigne's "Sk8r Boi", for instance, features the song being sung by a pre-teen girl in heavy make-up, fishnet stockings, and a Sex Pistols t-shirt.

Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
You better watch out, you better not cry
You better not pout, I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town (he's coming to town)
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list and checking it twice
Gonna find out who's naughty and nice, ooh, ooh
Santa Claus is coming to town, oh yeah
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town (baby, he's coming to town)
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're a wake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake
Oh, you better watch out, you better not cry
Better not pout, I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town, yeah
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Whoa, whoa, he's coming to town
Yeah, he's coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town (he's coming to town)
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
With little tin horns and little toy drums
Rooty toot toots and rummy tum tums
Curly head dolls that toddle and coo
Elephants, boats and kiddie cars too
Santa Claus is coming to town, oh yeah
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Whoa, town now
Santa Claus is coming to town, yeah
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Kidz Bop's version of "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" is a classic Christmas song that has been popular since its first recording in 1934 by musician Harry Reser. The song speaks about Santa Claus, who is believed to bring gifts to children on Christmas Eve. The lyrics start by announcing Santa's arrival, and then move on to warn children to behave well because he is keeping track of their deeds. The song's catchy refrain, "Santa Claus is coming to town," is repeated throughout to create an upbeat and festive atmosphere.
The song urges kids to behave properly as Santa is around the corner to check up on them. The lyrics warn that he's making a list of who has been naughty and nice, and he knows everything about them, even when they are sleeping. This serves as a reminder to child listeners that they must behave well and not be naughty, or else, they will not receive anything from Santa. The song ends with Santa coming to town with toys such as little tin horns, little toy drums, curly head dolls that toddle and coo, elephants, boats, kiddie cars, and so on.
