Eleven Kidz Bop albums have been released to date. Each album features different pop music songs, played with music similar to the original, and with the "Kidz Bop Kids" singing instead of the original artist. Albums are typically released within a few months of each other and thus the songs included tend to be the hit songs of the current time, including such songs such as "Float On" (Modest Mouse), "This Love" (Maroon 5), and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (Green Day).
Although the albums are marketed as being "sanitized" versions of popular songs for children, many of the songs featured on the Kidz Bop albums still contain explicit sexual material, such as Rob Thomas's "Lonely No More," which some people consider inappropriate for younger audiences. Other featured songs, such as "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", contain profanity. Although the albums censor the actual word from the song, the context of the profanity remains. They also covered Green Day's hit "Wake Me Up When September Ends", which is about death.
The Kidz Bop video for their cover of Avril Lavigne's "Sk8r Boi", for instance, features the song being sung by a pre-teen girl in heavy make-up, fishnet stockings, and a Sex Pistols t-shirt.

Turn it up loud, captain.
Lights go down it's dark
The jungle is your head
Can't rule your heart
A feeling so much
Your eyes are wide and though
Your soul it can't be bought
Your mind can wander
Hello hello
(Hola)
I'm at a place called Vertigo
(Dónde estás?)
It's everything I wish I didn't know
Except you give me something
I can feel, feel
The night is full of holes
As bullets rip the sky
Of ink with gold
They twinkle as the
Boys play rock and roll
They know that they can't dance
At least they know
I can't stand the beats
I'm asking for the cheque
The girl with crimson nails
Has Jesus 'round her neck
Swinging to the music
Swinging to the music
Hello hello
(Hola)
I'm at a place called Vertigo
(Dónde estás?)
It's everything I wish I didn't know
But you give me something
I can feel, feel
All of this, all of this can be yours
All of this, all of this can be yours
All of this, all of this can be yours
Just give me what I want
And no one gets hurt
Hello hello
(Hola)
We're at a place called Vertigo
(Dónde estás?)
Lights go down and all I know
Is that you give me something
I can feel your love teaching me how
Your love is teaching me how
How to kneel, kneel
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, yea
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, yea
The song Vertigo by Kidz Bop is a pop-rock anthem that describes a sense of disorientation or dizziness that one feels when infatuated with someone. The song starts with a count-off of "Unos, dos, tres, catorce!" which means "one, two, three, fourteen!" in Spanish. This unusual count is believed to have been a mistake by Bono, the lead singer of U2 (who originally released this song in 2004) and is now considered a trademark of the song. The first verse seems to suggest that the singer is lost in a jungle (which could metaphorically represent the confusion in one's head created by love). The line "can't rule your heart" suggests that the singer is not in control of their emotions and is swept away by infatuation. They feel like they are being pulled towards their crush like a force that is "stronger than a thought". The singer then sings about being at a place called "Vertigo" where everything they learn about their crush makes them wish they didn't know. However, despite this feeling of vertigo, their crush gives them a feeling that they can't resist.
The second verse begins with a stark image of a night sky full of bullet holes. This image could represent the violent nature of love and how one's heart can feel like it's being torn apart. The singer also comments on their dislike for the beats of the music playing in the background and expresses their desire to leave by asking for the check. The last lines of the song suggest that the singer is willing to accept everything their crush has to offer (which could include pain) as long as they get what they want. The chorus repeats the line "hello, hello, we're at a place called Vertigo" and the singer is grateful for the lessons their crush is teaching them about love.
Overall, the song Vertigo is about the experience of being in love and the dizzying sensation that it can create. The song's repeated "hello, hello" is a greeting that signifies both the singer's excitement and nervousness concerning their newfound love. The line "can't rule your heart" emphasizes that our emotions sometimes take control over logical thinking, leading to confusion and chaos.
