Eleven Kidz Bop albums have been released to date. Each album features different pop music songs, played with music similar to the original, and with the "Kidz Bop Kids" singing instead of the original artist. Albums are typically released within a few months of each other and thus the songs included tend to be the hit songs of the current time, including such songs such as "Float On" (Modest Mouse), "This Love" (Maroon 5), and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (Green Day).
Although the albums are marketed as being "sanitized" versions of popular songs for children, many of the songs featured on the Kidz Bop albums still contain explicit sexual material, such as Rob Thomas's "Lonely No More," which some people consider inappropriate for younger audiences. Other featured songs, such as "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", contain profanity. Although the albums censor the actual word from the song, the context of the profanity remains. They also covered Green Day's hit "Wake Me Up When September Ends", which is about death.
The Kidz Bop video for their cover of Avril Lavigne's "Sk8r Boi", for instance, features the song being sung by a pre-teen girl in heavy make-up, fishnet stockings, and a Sex Pistols t-shirt.

Kidz Bop Lyrics

And your sister and your job
And that broke-down car
And the things you call art
Forget you and your friends
That I'll never see again
Everybody but your dog
You can all get lost
I swear I meant to mean the best when it ended
Even tried to bite my tongue when you start, mmh
Now you're textin' all my friends askin' questions
They never even liked you in the first place
Dated a girl that I know for the attention
She only made it two days, what a connection
It's like you'd do anythin' for my affection
You're goin' all about it in the worst ways
I was into you
But I'm over it now
And I was tryna be nice
But nothing's gettin' through
So let me spell it out
A-B-C-D-E forget you
And your mom and your sister and your job
And that broke-down car
And the things you call art
Forget you and your friends
That I'll never see again
Everybody but your dog
You can all get lost
Na-na-na-na, na, na, na-na
A-B-C-D-E forget you
You said you just needed space and so I gave it
When I had nothin' to say, you couldn't take it
Told everyone I'm a-, so I became it
Always had to put yourself above me
I was into you
But I'm over it now
And I was tryna be nice
But nothing's getting through
So let me spell it out
A-B-C-D-E forget you
And your mom and your sister and your job
And that Craigslist couch
And the way your voice sounds
Forget you and your friends
That I'll never see again
Everybody but your dog
You can all get lost
Na-na-na-na, na, na, na-na
A-B-C-D-E forget you (get lost)
Na-na-na-na, na, na, na-na
A-B-C-D-E forget you
And your mom and your sister and your job
And that Craigslist couch
And the way your voice sounds
Forget you and your friends
That I'll never see again
Everybody but your dog
You can all get lost
The lyrics to Kidz Bop's "ABC" are about a relationship that has ended but one party is still trying to hold on. The singer is telling their ex to forget about them and everything that comes with them: their family, friends, and belongings. It's clear that the singer tried to be nice and make things work, but the other person wasn't receptive, causing frustration and anger. The singer spells it out simply, using the ABCs, telling the other person to forget them and move on.
The use of the ABCs is a clever play on words and adds an element of simplicity to the lyrics. The singer is essentially telling the other person that forgetting them should be as easy as reciting the ABCs. The lyrics also touch on the frustration that can come with an ex trying to stay in contact through mutual friends and acquaintances. The use of "Craigslist couch" as a detail adds a bit of humor and specificity to the song.
