K… Read Full Bio ↴Kiki Rowe is a Pop RnB singer/songwriter from Mississauga, Canada.
Keandra Shan Lal is a singer/songwriter who is more affectionately known to her fans as Kiki Rowe. Born and raised in Mississauga, Canada, the French nickname was given to her by her Mom,Dad and childhood friends. It has artistic associations and draws origins from the term āinspirational writer" .After listening to just a handful of original music crafted by the 19-year-old burgeoning artist it is evident her parents couldnāt have given her a more fitting name.
Like other gifted songwriters Kiki started penning poetry at a very young age. In fact, by the time she was a freshman in high school teachers began taking notice of Kikiās talent. Her guidance counselor recalls, āKikiās poetry was simply beyond her years.ā Combined with the weekly piano lessons her parents had arranged for her growing up, it didnāt take long before the young girlās poems were being transformed into songs. Early Influences in Kikiās musical writing style can be attributed to artists such as Usher and Tori Kelly. However, it wasnāt only her songwriting that was grabbing peopleās attention; Kiki was also becoming an accomplished pianist as well, taking first place in Ontarioās Conservatory of Music for Best Piano Composition in 2009.
Over the next few years Kiki began recording her original music in a makeshift home studio and word began spreading around town about the girl with the āgolden pen.ā It wasnāt long before local DJās and Artists were approaching Kiki for features, co-writing sessions and performance opportunities. Eager to pursue her dream, the young songstress dove in and began working on music with anyone that wanted to do so. It was during this time Kiki recorded āBreak My Heartā a song that generated so much buzz around her hometown friends and family encouraged Kiki to shoot a video that received over 20,000 views without any promotion. This only fueled Kikiās creative fire even more!
In 2013, building off the success and momentum of āBreak My Heartā and other local standout tracks like āSay Farewellā and āItās Youā Kiki decided to take a trip to the United States and attend the All Access Music Conference (AAMC). This annual networking event brings together top music industry professionals with up-and-coming artists and producers. While in Atlanta, Kiki played her music for AAMC co-founders Brian Berger and Jennifer Goldfarb, both of whom worked in the A&R department at Atlantic Records and on their share of multiplatinum-selling projects for many years.
The pair of executives were both instantly intrigued not only the young artistās music, but her bubbly personality and engaging spirit. āWe knew we wanted to dig deeper as soon as we met her and listened to the music she was making,ā Goldfarb remembers. Berger continues, āIt wasnāt until we sent her a few tracks to write to and she sent these amazing complete records back that we actually knew what we were dealing with. Kiki is an amazing talent.ā
Today, the young Canadian singer/songwriter continues to follow her dream and her story as an artist is just getting started. Working with Berger and Goldfarb they have opened up many new doors for Kiki with some of the biggest producers, labels and publishers in the world. Kiki is hard at work recording songs for her self-titled debut EP due out in 2014.

Where you at? (Where you at?)
Where you at babe?
Where you at? (Where you at?)
Where you at? Where you at? (Where you at?)
Where you at? Ohh
I need you now
Talk black backgrounds
I need you now
The great escape
Erase my pain
I'll do the same
And save you babe
I'll save you babe
And you'll save me babe
And we'll run away
Take me away
And I'll save you babe
And you'll save me babe
And we'll run away
All I feel is fail
Vision so unfair
This can disappear
I just need you near
In the dark
Light a spark
Find my heart
Find my heart
I need you now
Talk black backgrounds
Sing in surround
I need you now
The great escape
Erase my pain
I'll do the same
And save you babe
I'll save you babe
And you'll save me babe
And we'll run away
Take me away
And I'll save you babe
And you'll save me babe
And we'll run away
We can take it slow
I 'm not the type to go to chapel where the wind blows
I just wanna let you know
That I can't always stand in your shadow
In the dark
Light a spark
Find my heart
Find my heart
I need you now
Talk black backgrounds
Sing in surround
I need you now
The great escape
Erase my pain
I'll do the same
And save you babe
I'll save you babe
And you'll save me babe
And we'll run away
Take me away
And I'll save you babe
And you'll save me babe
And we'll run away
Yeah yeah
Yeah yeah
I'll save you babe (yeah yeah)
The lyrics to Kiki Rowe's "Need You Now" depict the yearning for someone's presence and the desire to escape from a world that seems to be falling apart. The opening lines of the song, "Where you at babe? Where you at?" sets the tone for the entire song - a desperate plea for someone to come to the aid of the singer. The repetition of these lines throughout the song enhances the sense of urgency, emphasizing how much the singer needs her special someone to be with her in her moment of crisis.
The song goes on to describe how the black background symbolizes the feeling of being lost and alone, and how the singer needs her significant other to speak to her, to provide a distraction from her pain. She mentions the need to "erase her pain" and ends up saving her loved one as well. The lyrics suggest that the singer wants to run away with her significant other and take a break from reality, wanting to escape from life's constant problems.
The song also touches upon themes of vulnerability and trust. The singer admits that she is not always willing to follow her significant other's lead and needs him to understand that she needs to take things slow. The chorus is repeated several times throughout the song, with lyrics like "I'll save you babe, and you'll save me babe" portraying a sort of symbiotic relationship where the couple relies on each other for comfort and security.
Overall, this song highlights the lengths to which people are willing to go to find companionship and comfort. It showcases the deep emotional bond that exists between two people in love, who can rely on each other to be the light in their darkest moments.
