Who Will I Run To?
Kiley Dean Lyrics

Who I could tell my deepest fears
And you were the one
Who always wiped away my tears
When he hurt me you were my prince
Sent straight from above
Like a fool I never saw
So now I've lost everything
Cause now you say
You're gone forever more
So who will I
Who will I run to
Who will I turn to
Now that you left me behind
Who will dry my tears
When I cry
Who will I run to
And who will I turn to
Now that you're not here
In my life
You were the one
I took for granted all those years
And you were the one
I should've known
It was so clear
How could I be so blind
Not to see what's before my eyes
I'll get you back here with me
If it takes the rest of my life
Cause I would do anything
Cause I want you back forever more
Who will I run to
Who will I turn to
Now that you left me behind
Who will dry my tears
When I cry
Who will I run to
And who will I turn to
Now that you're not here
In my life
I will gladly journey
Across the deep blue sea
If I could know
That I would have you here with me
I realize that I was blind
But now I finally see
I need you back here in my life
Oh baby can it be
Who will I run to
Who will I turn to
Now that you left me behind
Who will dry my tears
When I cry
Who will I run to
Who will I turn to
Now that you're not here
In my life
Who will be there for me
Who's gonna rescue me
Who's gonna share my dreams
Who's gonna mend this broken heart
The song "Who Will I Run To?" by Kiley Dean is a heartfelt ballad about the pain of losing someone who was always there to offer comfort and support. The first verse establishes that the singer relied on the person they address to confide in and ease their sorrows, even when someone else hurt them. This is a theme in the song - the person they address is portrayed as being there for the singer when nobody else was. As the verse continues, the singer admits their foolishness for not seeing the other person's love, which was apparently obvious to everyone but them.
In the chorus, the singer laments the loss of this important presence in their life. They ask who will fill the void left by them, who will be there to wipe away their tears, and who they can turn to when they need support. It's clear that the loss is significant and overwhelming, and the singer doesn't have any answers as to how they will move on from this.
The second verse is a kind of apology from the singer for not recognizing the importance of the person they address sooner. They describe how they took them for granted and failed to see what was right in front of them. But now they understand what they've lost and are willing to do anything to get them back. The final chorus repeats the same questions and concerns as the first, emphasizing the singer's desperation and uncertainty about the future.
Overall, "Who Will I Run To?" is an emotional ode to the people in our lives who are there for us when things are tough. The song captures the pain and confusion that follows the loss of that kind of support, and emphasizes how difficult it can be to find a way forward without it.
