Pieces
Killing Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

And now you've come so far and climbed so high, and all it cost were the words we built ourselves up on. Another step. Just one more time. Why turn back now? As you're starting to forget something we lost so long ago. But we remember the taste of our blood, you taught us all so well. Exhale. It's gone. One breath and four years lost. Did you miss us as we fell through the cracks of your lies? But we found a home in the lowercase letters of words you'll never read and songs you'll never hear. And you'd remember, but we've bit our tongues for so long now that we forgot what we had to say. We're spitting blood and you can't see. But now we know tomorrow means nothing if we all die today. But we won't die today. This doesn't die today.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Killing's song Pieces seem to touch upon themes of loss, betrayal, and perseverance. The opening lines reflect on the progress made by someone who has climbed a high point in their life, but at the cost of breaking the promises and words they built themselves up on. The lines "Why turn back now? As you're starting to forget something we lost so long ago" suggest that the singer is urging someone not to forget the past and the things they have been through. The lines "But we remember the taste of our blood, you taught us all so well. Exhale. It's gone" suggest that there has been some kind of struggle or fight, and the singer has been hurt but is now finding release and allowing themselves to move on.

The lines "Did you miss us as we fell through the cracks of your lies? But we found a home in the lowercase letters of words you'll never read and songs you'll never hear" suggest that there has been a rift, perhaps caused by someone's lies or betrayal, and the singer and their community have been left out. But they have found strength in their unity and in their own creativity. The lines "And you'd remember, but we've bit our tongues for so long now that we forgot what we had to say. We're spitting blood and you can't see" suggest that the singer has been suppressing their feelings and thoughts for so long that it has turned into physical pain. However, they are still determined to carry on and not give up. The final lines "But now we know tomorrow means nothing if we all die today. But we won't die today. This doesn't die today" suggest that the singer and their community are resolved to keep fighting, no matter what happens.

Just Pigging it

We raise and slaughter our own pigs. Although our methods we use are undeniable less stressful on the animal they did it about as respectful as they could givin the circumstance(I didn’t appreciate the hook in the mouth prior to slaughter). Anyways anyone that dosent understand the squealing the hog was making knows nothing about pigs. I encourage these people to go to their local hog farmer and go sit in a pig pen. You’ll find out real quick how “friendly” they are👍
