Walsh was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, and grew up with two sisters and one brother in its Allerton suburb. She attended Sandy Lane First School, Stoney Lee Middle School and Beckfoot Grammar School and had her first taste of fame starring in an advert as a child.
In 2000 she tried out for the role of Maria Sutherland in the soap opera Coronation Street, losing out to Samia Smith. Later she appeared in the television series This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper as Gillian Oldfield, and in the same year she starred in a BBC Educational Schools programme called Focus. In 2001 Kimberley played Tracy in Dream Back.
While studying for a BA degree in English and Media at Trinity and All Saints College, University of Leeds, in 2002 during her second year Walsh auditioned for a reality television show dedicated to assembling a new girl group: Popstars: The Rivals. She and future bandmate Nicola Roberts did not originally make the final ten, but Walsh was brought back to the competition when original finalist Hazel was found to be over the age limit - she resultantly dropped out of university. On the show she performed:
"Baby Can I Hold You"
"Emotion"
"Unbreak My Heart"
"Chain Reaction"
Walsh was the fourth girl to be voted into Girls Aloud, much to the delight of her friend and new bandmate, Nadine Coyle, with whom she had become good friends during the course of the show.
While in Girls Aloud, Walsh has been popular among the band's male fan base. In April 2004, Heat magazine named her toned stomach as the fifth best in the world, ahead of superstar Beyoncé and singer Rachel Stevens. In 2005, Walsh was ranked forty-fourth in the "100 Sexiest Females In The World" list published by FHM magazine; in 2006, she was ranked at sixty-six.
Walsh co-hosted the 25 August 2006 episode of The Friday Night Project with Cheryl Cole and Sarah Harding, on which she did an impression of Pop Idol and X Factor judge Simon Cowell.
Everybody Dance
Kimberley Walsh Lyrics

Clap your hands, clap your hands (x2)
Music never lets you down
Puts a smile on your face
Any time, anyplace
Dancing helps relieve the pain
Soothes your mind, makes you happy again
Close your eyes and let go
But it don't mean a thing
If it ain't got that swing
Bop-shoo-wa, bop-shoo-wa, bop-shoo-wa
Everybody dance, do-do-do
Clap your hands, clap your hands (x4)
Spinning all around the floor
Just like Rogers and Astaire
Who found love without a care
Stepping to our favorite tune
The good times always end too soon
Everybody's dancing
Lift your feet, have some fun
Come on everybody, get on your feet
Clap your hands
Everybody's screaming
Repeat chorus (x4)
Dance, Everybody dance da da da da
Everybody dance... Dance
Repeat chorus (x4)
The lyrics to Kimberley Walsh’s “Everybody Dance” are an ‘uplifting’ anthem of positivity that celebrates the power of music, dancing and the joy they bring to our lives. Walsh invites her listeners to get up on their feet, clap their hands and sway to the beats of music that never let us down. She asserts that music has the ability to put a smile on our faces regardless of when and where we are. Dancing, she goes on to suggest, can be a great way of relieving stress and pain as it soothes our minds and makes us feel happy again. The lyrics portray dancing as both an emotional and physical release, a sense of calm in turbulent times.
Walsh also alludes to iconic dancers such as Rogers and Astaire who, through their art of dancing, found love without any care in the world. She encourages her listeners to step to their favorite tune and enjoy the good times, but cautions that without the proper swing, the dancing falls flat. The “Everybody Dance” lyrics are a wonderful reminder that music and dance can transcend ordinary life and allow us to experience different levels of happiness, freedom and joy.

Love it!! There are no backing singers when she's singing the verses. You can definitely distinguish her voice when she does join in with the chorus. Such a lovely tone.

It's amazing to know she wasn't even Born when this song first came out by Chic. It was their Follow Up to Dance Dance Dance (Yowsah Yowsah Yowsah). Steps also did "their" version. I was telling US Music Fans how alot of Boy Bands/Girlbands do cover versions of Songs originally done by R & B Singers. It's great because if whomever wrote the song and owns it still, they make nasty bank.
