Spiders in Her Hair
King Dude Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I always thought I was
Blacker than the blood
Running through the devil's soiled veins
Until I met a girl
Not quite of this world
No she was born in a fiery lake

There are spiders in her hair
Her skin it crawls with them everywhere whoa ho
My heart beat thunders like a drum
She is close
I'm in love with a ghost

Her skin's as pale, as the day is white
Her hair is blacker than the blackest night
And when she speaks whoa ho
All children weep
And when she sings Lord Death will come and reap

There are spiders in her hair
Her skin it crawls with them everywhere whoa ho
My heart beat thunders like a drum
She is close
I'm in love with a ghost

There are spiders in her hair
Her skin it crawls with them everywhere whoa ho
My heart beat thunders like a drum
She is close
I'm in love with a ghost

I'm in love with a ghost
I'm in love with a ghost

Overall Meaning

The song "Spiders in Her Hair" by King Dude portrays the singer's love and admiration for a ghostly girl whom he describes as not quite of this world. He begins the song by expressing his self-assumed darkness, stating that he thought he was blacker than the blood running through the devil's soiled veins. However, he met a girl who showed him otherwise - she was born in a fiery lake, making her even darker and more otherworldly than he ever thought himself to be.

The singer describes the girl's appearance as being both haunting and alluring. Her skin crawls with spiders, yet it is as pale as the whitest day. Her hair is blacker than the blackest night, and her voice is so haunting that it makes children weep. The imagery used in the song, particularly the imagery of spiders crawling in her hair, adds to the overall eerie vibe, making it quite clear that this girl is not of this world.

Overall, "Spiders in Her Hair" is a love song with a dark twist. The singer is infatuated with a ghostly girl, despite her frightening appearance and haunting voice. The song's lyrics express both the singer's love and his fascination with the girl's otherworldliness, making for a unique and intriguing piece of music.

I know all the lyrical sites say ghost, but to me it sounds like he's singing corpse -- and I think it fits the lyrics a little better (and its creepier!)

I can't decide which one of his songs is my favorite. But this version of this song is freaking amazing!

Such a beautiful song. A perfect love song!

Rodrigo Arias

I think both versions are amazing. King Dude truly is a master.

Wolfgang Bauer

this version is much much better than the original version!

Jin Kazumi

This song is amazing.

Jason Nosaj

I like this version better because it gives the song a western twist.

let's see how long it'll take for humanity to distinguish between 'different' to 'better' and 'I like it better' to 'is better'.

Its good, just you forgot that subjective better is not actually better. Its just better too you. Which might not be true for others. Hence I do not think "Better" will ever take over for the word "Different".
