For the first few years of his career, Jammy almost exclusively made Dub. In the 1980s, he became one of the most influential producers of dancehall music.
His biggest hit was 1985's "(Under Me) Sleng Teng" by Wayne Smith, with an entirely-digital rhythm hook.
Many credit this song as being the first "Digital rhythm" in reggae, leading to the modern dancehall era.

So listening to this just takes me back to a time when life was so simple, neighbours and everyone in the community interacted and respected each other and there was little crime. My roommate in Kuwait keeps asking why I have the same music playing daily. He listened to this and a few others and I explained that this is the only way I can preserve our music since Jamaica has changed and things are not the same. Plus the fact that when JBC switched to TVJ, they lost a lot of classic music videos and other shows like Titus in Town, Oliver at Large, Claffy, Lime Tree Lane and other classic series.
@LeoOReggio
Well said.
