Formed in 2006, the band originally consisted of lead singer/guitarist Rex St. Diamond, lead guitarist Hernando F. Galla, Elroy Duce on 3rd guitar, Magic Marvin on Bass and an always changing drummer...
Magic Marvin had himself disappear while Elroy Duce went on to follow a career as a Russian writer, leaving only Rex and Nando as the core of the original group.
Following an only demo-recording in the winter/summer of 2007 they're about to record their first full length album "The First Crusades - The Magic Kingdom" as well as the short film "The Magic Kingdom".
Their major influences range from classic rock bands from the 60s such as The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Faces or The Kinks over alternative rock bands from the 80s like The Stone Roses or The Cult to classic blues-rock legends Van Morrison and Ten Years After.
Although their influences seem to be obvious when listening to King Richards, lead singer Rex St. Diamond claims to "sound like Dean Martin, Adriano Celentano and Herb Alpert"
Hail Hail King Richards... A never ending story!

before elroy got shot in the head
remember the drug bust in saigon
the policemen where beating rex dead
city on fire, riots in the street - baby ride on
dreams are passing by living for the nite - baby ride on
paradise alive been dying to survive - baby ride on
gotcha was played in cambodia
although the bullets for nando where real
mama i'll resurrect them
marvin's got the magic to heal
city on fire, riots in the street - baby ride on
dreams are passing by living for the nite - baby ride on
paradise alive been dying to survive - baby ride on
butterfly release living for the peace - baby ride on
(Schwentner)
The lyrics to King Richard's "Ride On" speak to the chaos and violence of the world, with references to specific incidents in Bombay, Saigon, and Cambodia. The first stanza begins with a child's cry of "Shalom" in Bombay, which is followed by the brutal killing of Elroy. In Saigon, there was a drug bust where the police beat a man named Rex to death. The chorus repeats the phrase "baby ride on," suggesting that despite the tragedies, life must go on.
The second stanza references the game "gotcha" played in Cambodia, but this time the bullets were real and targeted a man named Nando. The singer then promises to resurrect those lost to violence, believing that magic can bring back the dead. The chorus repeats once more, with a sense of hope that people can continue to live for peace despite the world's turmoil.
Overall, the lyrics paint a picture of a world in conflict and violence, but with a glimmer of hope that people can continue to live and strive for peace. The references to specific events make the song feel grounded in reality and add a level of poignancy to the lyrics.
