One of the best Canadian bands ever in my opinion.

I opened this link and I knew you would have been here (les grands esprits se rencontrent toujours)

I also have their latest band version of 1995 called 'In The Name", (when they changed name) Many songs are the same. But the Kingsbane version is somewhat more original (yet more raw, and it sounds like bootleg sometimes). I wonder how much these nice compositions could sound, if they had a much better mix and more refined production. Retrospectively, I think if Kingsbane were located in Germany or Europe (instead of Canada) they could have much bigger chances of breaking big in the prog circles. The inverse happened with Angra. They were quite isolated in Brazil in early 90's, that's why they had to go in Germany to sign with Spv and to record 'Angels Cry ('93); in order to break big time in progpower metal circles.

+Neueregel I like their debut Full-length as In the Name, it has some cool 'new' songs and a lot of great prog ballads, but you know, North Americans were more interested in crap like grunge and modern metal such as pantera (sorry if you appreciate them), so Kingsbane/In the Name could never get the recognition they deserved...
