He spent eight years in Nashville before signing a record deal with MCA Nashville. His debut single, "Mary Was the Marrying Kind", peaked at #45 on the country singles charts published by Billboard.
On September 27, 2011, he released his second single, "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck". The song was followed by the release of his debut album Up All Night in April 2012. Moore co-wrote every song on the album, and Brett James produced it. A month later, "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck" hit #1 on the Billboard country charts. "Beer Money" was the album's second single, followed by "Hey Pretty Girl". These songs also reached the country Top 5. Up All Night was the most commercially successful album for a debut country male artist in both 2012 and 2013.
Moore co-wrote two tracks on Thompson Square's self-titled debut album which was released in February 2011: "All the Way" and "Let's Fight", the latter of which was their debut single. He also co-wrote James Wesley's 2012 single "Walking Contradiction". He also co-wrote Frankie Ballard's 2016 single "Cigarette".
In October 2013, Moore announced his fifth single, "Young Love". It charted at #22 on the Country Airplay in March 2014. After it underperformed, it was followed by "Dirt Road", which failed to make Top 40. Moore then decided to "scrap" his second album and compose new material. Moore then released "I'm to Blame", the lead single to his 2015 album, Wild Ones.
On February 10, 2017, Moore released "More Girls Like You" as the lead single from a then-unannounced forthcoming album.
On June 21, 2017, Moore announced the album's title, Slowheart, and its release date of September 8, 2017.
On November 16, 2018, Moore released his second EP titled Room to Spare: The Acoustic Sessions. Three singles were released in preparation for the EP: "Tennessee Boy," an acoustic version of "Plead the Fifth," and "It Ain't California." The EP consists of seven acoustic tracks.
In May 2019, Moore announced on social media "That's a wrap, record #4 is done". No release date had been officially announced, but on June 15 Moore announced he was checking mixes for his upcoming record, indicating the record may be released sometime in 2019.
On August 9, 2019, Moore released a much-anticipated lead single to his yet to be named upcoming album. "She's Mine" is a song Moore wrote over a decade ago, and finally released it in 2019.
On March 27, 2020, Moore released the title track for his fourth studio album titled Wild World. Later that same day, Moore did an interview with Billboard about his new album. The album, which consists of 13 tracks (twelve of which are co-written by Moore), was released on May 29, 2020. Another preview song, "Southpaw", followed on April 17, 2020.
Running For You

But I knew, I knew, I knew
I knew this day would come
As bad as I want to
Ain't no way, not me, girl
I ain't gonna stop you, yeah
But if the rain stops falling, falling on you
If the light starts fading, baby don't move
Just say my name, stay right there
I'll come running for you
I'm gonna miss you
But baby, there's no way that I can go with you
So go on and chase it
Yeah, I know, I know, I know
You can almost taste it
Yeah, time is a-wastin'
But if the rain stops falling, falling on you
And your heart stops breaking, breaking in two
If the light starts fading, baby don't move
Just say my name, stay right there
I'll come running for you
It's gonna be a long night
And I might shed a tear, but I'm gonna be alright
And even though you won't be in my arms
You'll be right where you belong
So go girl, go girl, go on
But if the rain stops falling, falling on you
And your heart stops breaking, breaking in two
If the light starts fading, baby don't move
Just say my name, stay right there
I'll come running for you, yeah
The lyrics of Kip Moore's song "Running For You" is a portrayal of a tough decision that both people in a relationship may have to make at some point. The person speaking the lyrics has come to the realization that though they have had a great time and feel affection for their partner, they cannot go where they are headed. There is a sense of sadness and regret as the singer explains that the day they dreaded has come, but they knew it would all along. The person wants to make it clear that they are not the one holding their partner back, yet they love them enough to come to their aid if they need it.
There is a sense of hope and reassurance in the chorus, where the singer lets their partner know that if they are ever in trouble, they should call on them, and they would come running to their rescue. The singer acknowledges the fact that their partner is chasing their dreams and encourages them to continue going for it, though it means they can't be together. The singer is resolute but deeply emotional in their decision, and they know that saying goodbye won't be easy.
In a sense, "Running For You" is about sacrifice, love, and making tough choices. It highlights the theme of selflessness, where a person may let go of something they love because they know it's the right thing to do for the sake of the person they care about.

We had a good run
We had a great time together
But I knew, I knew, I knew
But I foresaw this day coming
I knew this day would come
I knew that someday things would change
As bad as I want to
As much as I want to hold you back
Ain't no way, not me, girl
I won't hold you back because I don't want to be the one stopping you
I ain't gonna stop you, yeah
I won't prevent you from moving forward and exploring life
But if the rain stops falling, falling on you
But if your life starts getting better and you don't face any difficulties
And your heart stops breaking, breaking in two
And you stop feeling hurt and miserable
If the light starts fading, baby don't move
If the hope starts to fade, don't give up
Just say my name, stay right there
Just call my name, and I'll be there beside you
I'll come running for you
I'll always be there for you
I'm gonna miss you
I'll be missing you
But baby, there's no way that I can go with you
But it's not possible for me to join you
So go on and chase it
So chase your dreams and never give up
You can almost taste it
You can feel your dreams coming true
Time is a-wastin'
Time is running out
It's gonna be a long night
It's going to be a tough and painful time
And I might shed a tear, but I'm gonna be alright
And I might cry a little, but I'll be okay
And even though you won't be in my arms
Even though I won't be able to hold you close to me
You'll be right where you belong
You'll be where you're supposed to be
So go girl, go girl, go on
So go ahead and chase your dreams
Just say my name, stay right there
Just call my name, and I'll be there beside you
I'll come running for you, yeah
I'll always be there for you

Kip deserves a hell of a lot more radio airplay then he gets. 8 or 9 songs from this album are in heavy rotation on my playlist, and I know I'm not the only person who is like that.
