Király Viktor New York-ban született. Édesapja, Király Tamás a Universal dobosa volt 1972 és 1982 között; dobosként feltűnt a Color nevű formációban, egy ideje pedig az EMI lemezkiadó kreatív igazgatójaként tevékenykedik. Édesanyja, Király Gabriella pedig a Cini és a tinik nevű együttes énekesnője volt. Nővére Király Linda, szintén énekesnő, legismertebb számát a Can’t Let Go-t több mint 2 millióan nézték meg a Youtube-on, és a MAHASZ slágerlistáján a negyedik helyet érte el. Ikertestvére, Király Benjamin hobbiszinten foglalkozik zenéléssel. 1999-ben édesanyja betegsége miatt költöztek vissza Magyarországra. Viktor azóta, tizenhat éves kora óta beszél magyarul, de családi körben testvéreivel továbbra is anyanyelvüket, az angolt használják.
Zenei karrier
Viktor Linda sikerein felbuzdulva határozta el, hogy ő is szeretne komolyabban foglalkozni az énekléssel. Ikertestvérével, Benjaminnal Twinz néven alapítottak együttest. 2006-ban készítették el első és egyetlen videoklipjüket „Aranyásó”[1] címmel, de a remélt siker akkor még elmaradt. Jelenleg a Face to Face nevű formáció tagjai.
Először az m1 A Társulat című műsorába jelentkezett, melyben friss, tehetséges színészeket kerestek az István a király rockoperához. Ebben a műsorban Viktor az elődöntőkig jutott, továbbjutásának akadálya elsősorban az akcentusa volt.
Megasztár
2008-ban jelentkezett a Megasztár negyedik szériájába, melyben az eddig rekordmennyiségű, körülbelül tízezer jelentkező közül került ki győztesen, így 2008-ban ő lett az „Év Hangja”. Viktor a verseny során bebizonyította a nézőknek és a szakmai zsűrinek zene iránti elkötelezettségét, tehetségét és szorgalmát.

The song “Solo” by Király Viktor is all about the struggles of living the life of a musician, chasing your dreams, and finding true love. The lyrics talk about how the singer needed to become a famous musician in order to feel like a man, but it was not something he had planned. He admits that his reasons for doing what he does may not be fully understood by others, and while some may see him as selfish, he is not. He assures his partner that he was not running around acting crazy all over town, but was simply trying to chase his dreams.
He then talks about how he is living in the ‘solo’ and how everyone knows his name, shakes his hand, and wants the same fame and success as him. However, he realizes that all of this is not worth it if he doesn’t have the person he loves by his side. He acknowledges that he doesn’t need any of this if the ending is not with her. He understands that his partner is now his priority and that she is the only one for him.
In the end, he talks about how his partner completes him and how she is better than any spotlight. He knows that she has changed his plans, and while he used to think that he was the melody, he realizes that she is the bassline, and she completes his harmony.
