Black Heart
Kish Mauve Lyrics

I'm caught in a spiral
You make me feel like a wheel
I'm running off the cable
But the cable seems to fall out
And the wheel is turning faster
But I know I'll get there somehow
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
Twisting, Turning
Cos I have lost my soul
Houses, burning
Cos I want it all...
Want it all
Someone is calling
And I have lost control
The tide is turning
Cos I want it all...
Want it all
So ineffective
The pills that I'm taking
And nothing's gonna stop me
Because I want it too much, too much, too much
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
So ineffective
The pills that I'm taking
And nothing's gonna get me
Because I want it too much, too much, too much
Twisting, Turning
Cos I have lost my soul
Houses, burning
Cos I want it all...
Want it all
Someone is calling
And I have lost control
The tide is turning
Cos I want it all...
Want it all
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
You make me lose control
The lyrics to Kish Mauve's "Black Heart" are intense; it's about being lost in a spiral of desire and feeling like you have lost control over yourself. The singer is caught in a circular motion, going around and around, feeling like they can't escape the fast-moving wheel they're riding. The person they're singing about is making them feel this way, as if they're running off the cable.
The cable, which represents security and support, has fallen out, leaving the singer feeling dizzy and out of control. They can't stop spinning, and they feel like they're going to crash. The person they're losing control to has made them lose their soul, and everything they touch seems to burn. They want it all, but they've lost control. They're taking pills that don't seem to be helping, and they can't stop themselves because they want it too much.
The lyrics are a powerful commentary on the dangerous feeling of being out of control and losing yourself to desire. The singer is caught in a maelstrom of emotions that they can't control, and they're willing to risk everything to get what they want. It's a cautionary tale of what can happen when you give into your desires completely.
