On the fourth day, we felt compelled to whistle

And keep us company in this world anew and fresh?

I see my partner as a close friend and ideal spouse, and I appreciate and cherish our relationship

We have faced periods of dissatisfaction and realization that we need to make changes in our relationship

We need to address these issues and make changes to improve our relationship

The wars have been won but there's few left standing between us
We have overcome obstacles and struggles to keep our relationship strong, but not everyone has survived the journey with us

And the shadows of Christmas past
There are memories and experiences from our past that still affect and influence our relationship

Our relationship is seen positively by others, but not necessarily appreciated or valued as much as we feel it deserves

Fortune definitely favored us, but no one celebrated
We see ourselves as lucky and blessed in our relationship, but others may not give us the recognition or support we feel we deserve

Our wits were splitting at their ends
We have been pushed to our limits and are struggling to cope with the pressures and challenges of our relationship

We gazed upon the city lights
We take a step back from our relationship to appreciate and reflect on our surroundings and experiences

We each laughed aloud one final time and agreed:
We have come to a mutual agreement or conclusion about our relationship and are at peace with it

This is one thing we'll miss…
As we look back on our relationship, we appreciate and celebrate the good times and mourn the things we have lost

And as we held our breath and forced our will
We take control of our relationship and make changes and decisions that are difficult and uncomfortable, but necessary

The minutes stopped, the air was still
Time seems to stand still as we make these important decisions and reflect on our relationship

And minds began to unlearn their faulted ways
We start to recognize and change our negative patterns and habits in our relationship

We blasted through the hills!
We overcome obstacles and challenges in our relationship with determination and vigor

They were the first to go, and the most painful so
We address and correct the biggest and most difficult issues in our relationship first

Because we made them first when we learned to bleed
These issues may have originated early in our relationship when we were still learning and growing together

With our fingers on the seeds that sowed in the dirt
We take responsibility for the negative consequences of our actions and decisions in the past

And then cried when we came in the glorious masterwork of life ending
We feel the pain and loss that comes with ending a significant and meaningful chapter of our lives

And beginning again
But we remain optimistic and hopeful for the future, and the next chapter of our relationship

We ignored the pleas of the forest and the seas
We have not always been mindful or responsible in our relationship, and have caused damage or neglect to the environment around us

As we scorched the earth with our tears…
Our negative emotions and actions have had a real impact on the world around us

We burned them in fear
Our actions may have been motivated by fear or anxiety about the future of our relationship

Until there's nothing left
Our neglect and damage has depleted and destroyed the environment around us

We are left with nothing, and must rebuild and repair what we have lost

The destruction is severe and there is a long journey ahead to recover and rebuild

But we remain together, and we vow to move forward and rebuild our relationship and the world around us
