Dinosaur
Kisschasy Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Trying to beat my misery,
Don't wanna go across the sea,
And if I could take you everywhere,
There'd be no cause for my despair,

And I know we won't touch for months,
And your smell will evade me,
But our love could survive a war,
Without the slightest sore,

I know you suffer for my art,
Always pulling us apart,
Your forever in my brain,
Even when I cause you pain,

And I know I can't taste your skin,
With an ocean between us,

But our love is a dinosaur,
Hear it roar,

And I know we won't touch for months,
And your smell will evade me,
But our love could survive a war,
Without the slightest sore,

And I know I can't taste your skin,
With an ocean between us,
But our love is a dinosaur,

Hear it roar,
Hear it roar.

Overall Meaning

In Kisschasy's song "Dinosaur," the lyrics depict a long-distance relationship that the singer is trying to manage through his art. The singer acknowledges the distance between them and his inability to physically touch his lover for months. The distance serves as a source of misery for him. If he could take his lover with him everywhere, he would not have a reason to feel despair. He believes their love could survive a war without any hurt because of its strength.

Unfortunately, the singer admits to causing his lover pain, but she remains forever in his thoughts. He cannot taste her skin or smell her while being separated by an ocean, but their love is compared to a dinosaur that can roar through any distance or obstacle. The song portrays the difficulty of long-distance relationships and how constant communication and the power of love can keep them going.

@Cuzjudd

Pretty much the most underrated band of all time

@teafortk

I heard this song when this music video came out - and played it for my girlfriend when we started dating a few months later. We were in school together, scared of the world and our relationship, and when we graduated, we had to go back to our homes. Being apart was the hardest thing, but we would play this song and think of each other. We've been together almost 10 years now, and I can't wait to be able to have it play at our wedding. It means more than a beautiful song: it gave us hope, strength, and reassurance through the hardest parts of our life. This song will always be incredibly important to me.
