Ähkii gummipukua päällensä.
Vatta tökkii pahasti ja karvat vetskarin väliin jää.
Räpylät luiskahtelee kintuissa,
Naamarin remmiä pitää jatkaa narulla.
Ajattele, kuule, ajattele,
Kuinka voikaan miestä masentaa.
Ja silti fläsä pohjaan uppoaa.
Jamaikan rommia lipittelee,
Kultakaloja vikittelee.
Tihrusilmäinen sukeltaja,
Ankara meriheinän pupeltaja.
Läskit roikkuu poskillansa,
Jalkaan jäi kiinni mustekala-ansa.
Ajattele, kuule, ajattele,
Kuinka voikaan miestä masentaa.
Kun potkuttelemaan joutuu ihan tosissaan
Ja silti fläsä pohjaan uppoaa.
Ajattele, kuule, ajattele,
Kuinka voikaan miestä masentaa.
Kun potkuttelemaan joutuu ihan tosissaan
Ja silti fläsä pohjaan uppoaa.
The song "Fläsän sukeltajan itkuvirsi" by Klamydia tells the story of a scuba diver who is struggling with his equipment and the challenges of the underwater world. The lyrics describe a "damn big frog man" who is struggling to get his rubber suit on, with his belly poking out and his hair getting caught in the zipper. His flippers keep slipping down his legs, so he has to keep adjusting them with a rope. Despite all this, he tries to continue his dive.
The second verse introduces a new character, a diver who is sipping Jamaican rum and teasing the goldfish. He has goggles that make his eyes look small, and he's snacking on seaweed. He's also got some extra weight around his face and has accidentally picked up a squid trap on his foot. The chorus repeats the idea that despite all the effort and obstacles, the "fläsä" (Finnish slang for scuba gear) still sinks to the bottom.
The song seems to be using this story as a metaphor or commentary on life. The lyrics suggest that even when we prepare ourselves and try to overcome challenges, we can still get weighed down and fail. The scuba gear, which is supposed to help us move through an otherwise inhospitable environment, becomes a burden. The rum-sipping diver might represent a carefree approach to life, enjoying the scenery without worrying too much about the actual diving. Overall, the song is a lament for those who try their best but still can't succeed.
