Klaus Hoffmann Lyrics

So'n Wasserkopp 'en gros',

Mir ne andre Freundin an,

Unn ick dachte:"Die verfluchte Krumme Lanke!"
Da wurde ick zum schuldjen Teil erklärt.
Lalalaa...

Ick koof' mer Sand
Und schütt die Krumme Lanke zu!!!

Overall Meaning

The song "Die Krumme Lanke" by Klaus Hoffmann tells the story of a man named Emma who falls in love with a woman named Emma, but their relationship goes through various ups and downs. The song begins by describing how the singer met Emma at a café in Grunewald, a forest in Berlin. They hit it off instantly, and soon they were sitting by the Krumme Lanke, a small lake nearby, listening to the birds and enjoying each other's company.

However, the relationship soon starts to fall apart. Emma confesses to the singer that she is pregnant, and they quickly get married. But as they start raising their child, tensions arise, and they start arguing more often. Emma becomes increasingly controlling, and the singer eventually cheats on her with another woman. Emma finds out and files for divorce, leaving the singer regretful and alone. In the end, he vows to bury the memories of his failed relationship with the Krumme Lanke by covering it with sand.

The song is often interpreted as a cautionary tale about the perils of love and relationships, with the Krumme Lanke serving as a symbol of both the beauty and the pain that can come with falling in love. At its heart, the song is a bittersweet reflection on the joys and sorrows of life, and the difficulties we all face in trying to find happiness and meaning in a world that is often cruel and unforgiving.

I stood and washed the dirty things out.

Die Emma meinte glatt,
Emma simply said,

Das se det nich nötich hat,
That she didn't need to do that.

At night, no one could sleep peacefully around us,

.I learned this song as a child in Berlin and even though I didn't speak much German,  I was only two when we moved to the USA and came back to visit when I was about 10 or 11.  I understood a lot of German because both my mother & father spoke it at home and I was used to the sound.  This song always made me laugh hysterically and it still does today...some 55+ years later!  I listened to it two or three times back then and even though I had to ask about a few words...Ick hab jedenfals den janzen lied jelernt....hab es auch in Berliner dialekt  jesungen...tja, naturlich mit n'bischen Berliner schnautze auch! ;- )

@Eysenbeiss

Passt schon ;-)

@claudiakatz-palme9708

hey Kuklapolitan, then you are better than me, never could keep the whole song in mind.

@josefrainer3630

Üü0😊

@Larrypint

@reinhardvaclavik1258

DAN WÜNSCHE ICH IHRE OMA ALLES GUTE. UND SO LANGE GESUND BLEIBEN WIE MÖGLICH

@richardvonhohenleben3143

@fahnrich8769

@buschul-ir1bn

@irenemolzow5691

Das waren noch Zeiten, alt Berlin 👍👍
