Come on, hit me

I want you to hit me as hard as you can

I want you to hit me as hard as you can

You hit me in the ear

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in the song "Hit Me" by Klaypex seem quite provocative, but they hold a deeper meaning. The lyrics are about someone yearning for an emotional connection with someone else. The line "Come on, hit me" is the metaphor for the singer's desire for an intense emotional connection, a connection so strong that it hurts him. He wants the other person to hit him as hard as he can, not physically, but emotionally.

The singer also wants the other person to understand his feelings and thoughts, so he repeatedly asks them to hit him as hard as they can. The last line, "You hit me in the ear," is metaphorical for the other person not truly understanding the depth of the singer's emotions. The ear symbolizes the inability to hear and comprehend the true meaning behind the words spoken.

The song speaks to deep-seated human desires that often manifest in strange ways. The desire for an intense emotional connection, while still wanting to maintain control, can be seen as the driving force behind the lyrics in this song. Even though the words may not make sense at first glance, the underlying emotions resonate with almost everyone.

I can believe it wasn't intentional.  I made a song with a bass track that was even more similar to Timestretch than this, before I ever heard of Bassnectar.  It's just a naturally good bass-line for electronic music that anyone could come up with independently.

@Real28

Considering the same 4 chords can be found in hundreds of top billboard hits, its not surprise it happens in dubstep too. This is so artistically different from timestretch that I dont see any need for legal talk.thats the beauty of music.

@Klaypex

Actually, just to clear things up -- we hadn't even heard of Timestretch nor Bassnectar during the making of this song, and frankly, the chord progression is a very simple one, so we hope you believe us when we say it was a total coincidence.

6 years later and I’ve just came to say your music is underrated and it shaped my childhood. Thank you.
