Fog
Klone Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Like a game
Nothing′s what it seems
So you can share your illicit dreams
Everybody will think you're insane

But now you don′t care about it
You don't feel the need to explain yourself
And the words fade into the fog
Between you and them

Hear them pray
Wash away all sins
They sing for you
Impure beast
The only thing to fear
A foreign sign

But now you don't care about it
You don′t feel the need to explain yourself
And the words fade into the fog
Between you and them

Like a game
Nothing′s what it seems
So you can share your illicit dreams
Everybody will think you're insane
You don′t care about it

You don't care about it

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Fog" by Klone are a representation of the feeling of alienation from society and the struggle to find acceptance. The opening lyrics "Like a game, nothing's what it seems" is a statement indicating how the world is an illusion and the things that appear to be reality are not necessarily so. The second line, "So you can share your illicit dreams" is an expression of the desire to be able to share one's desires or feelings without fear of judgment from others, particularly when one may feel isolated or rejected from society.

The song talks about how people perceive others who are different from them as insane. The lyrics "Everybody will think you're insane" speak to the stigma that people face when they try to express themselves or their ideas, particularly when they are outside of societal norms. The line "But now you don't care about it" is a statement of acceptance that they don't need to explain themselves and they are okay with who they are. The last lines, "And the words fade into the fog, Between you and them" is an expression of the distance that they feel from others as if their words are lost in the mist of misinterpretation.

The verse "Hear them pray, Wash away all sins, They sing for you, Impure beast" is an ironic representation of how some people try to change others with prayers and religious ceremony. Although the lines look like a religious chant, it describes the rejection of people who are considered impure by society. The words "The only thing to fear, A foreign sign" refer to the fear of change and the unfamiliar, and how people fear anyone who is different or looks different.

Overall, the song is a reflection of how it feels to be different and rejected by society. The lyrics tell a story about accepting oneself and not caring what others think irrespective of how much they are ridiculed or shamed.
