Counting Sheep
Klumzy Tung Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But they're out on street making up the numbers
Not quite accountancy more like I'll count and see
What will amount of me
Well you can count on me camaraderie
How hard can't it be I could pass in my dreams
But i cant get no sleep trouble with the counting sheep
So they're out on street making up the numbers
He says oh
They know too much they show
Too much where are their clothes
Barely on their bones
And oh
They talk too much they walk
Like they got one leg short
And a chip on their shoulder ah ah
As they walk like they talk like they know
Walking talking
Talking like they know
What do they know
Talking like they know
Maybe they know know
No no no know
Walk like they talk like they know
Walking talking
Talking like they know
Maybe they know
Talking like they know
Maybe they know
Should be at sleep trouble with the counting sheep
But they're out on street making up the numbers
Not quite accountancy more like I'll count and see
What will amount of me
Well you can count on me camaraderie
How hard can't it be I could pass in my dreams
But i cant get no sleep trouble with the counting sheep
So they're out on street making up the numbers
Dinner for one under the lights on dimmer
VH1 is on MJ singing thriller
He's talking to the man in the mirror
And his hairs getting thinner
Lucks getting slimmer but his guts getting bigger
Youth is wasted on the youth he says in vain
He says oh
They know too much they show
Too much where are their clothes
Barely on their bones
And oh
They talk too much they walk
Like they got one leg short
And a chip on their shoulder ah ah
As they walk like they talk like they know
Walking talking
Talking like they know
What do they know
Talking like they know
Maybe they know know
No no no know
Walk like they talk like they know
Walking talking
Talking like they know
Maybe they know
Talking like they know
Maybe they know
In my city city
It gets pretty gritty
Bang bang like it's chitty chitty
Anybody with me with me
I try and look above and see the witty witty going somewhere else
Screaming out i really don't know
Many bitty people tryna rescue their show
One of these days
They might find the light that can lead them out
To the end of the tunnel where it seems so bright
Oh
They know too much they show
Too much where are their clothes
Barely on their bones
As they walk like they talk like they know
Walking talking
Talking like they know
What do they know
Talking like they know
Maybe they
Maybe they

The lyrics of Klumzy Tung's song "Counting Sheep" describe the struggle of trying to fall asleep and the various distractions and thoughts that keep the singer awake. The counting of sheep, a classic method for inducing sleep, fails to provide any relief as the sheep are replaced by the distractions of people outside on the street. The singer notes that these people are essentially counting themselves, albeit in a less structured way than accountants might, and wonders what value there is in this. The singer then offers his camaraderie to the listener, suggesting that he could at least help provide some comfort in their sleeplessness.
The chorus of the song contains a couple of lines where the singer describes the people outside walking around as though they know something important. However, he notes that they don't actually seem to know much at all. This failure to live up to their own self-importance is underscored by the fact that they are poorly dressed and physically weak.
The final verse of the song returns to the theme of the singer's city and the difficulties faced by those living there. While there may be moments of brightness, the struggle is ongoing and often seems futile.
Overall, "Counting Sheep" is a contemplative song that explores themes of sleeplessness, self-importance, and societal struggle.

My friend introduced me to this song about 10 years ago when I was 17. I loved it then and I still love it now. It reminds me of a time when everything was care free, my dad was still alive and I was just a young lad who was buzzing. This song means alot to me, and I've played it endless amount of times. So I say thankyou. I wonder who you are and I hope your good, your tune is a banger.
