Born in Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo to a Congolese mother and Ghanaian father, Koffi grew up in Kinshasa.
He went to France to study, while in Paris, he began playing the guitar and writing songs. On his return to Congo he was a member of Viva la Musica, Papa Wemba's band. Koffi repopularized the slower style of soukous, which had fallen out of fashion. He dubbed this style Tcha Tcho, and it gained popularity outside Congo. Koffi's music can be quite controversial, taking on current events and topics considered taboo in some conservative societies. He has also participated in the salsa music project Africando.

bebe bebe eee... bebe wanga wa motema eee...
pasi eleki.nabungi nzela
nzoto esila ngai nionso eee
nakoma ndenge.nakoma bwange
mama yo nde mayi ya posa, kitisa mitema
reviser cas na nga eee
pasi eleki... nabungi nzela
nzoto esila ngai nionso ee nakoma ndenge.nakoma bwange
papa yo mayi ya posa ee kitisa motema revoit cas na nga eee
In Koffi Olomidé's song Dulcinée, the artist portrays love as a powerful force that never fades away. The opening lines, "La ou l'amour vit... il ne fait jamais nuit" (Where love lives… it never gets dark), suggest that when love is present in a person's life, it brings light and joy that never fades away. The chorus, "bebe bebe eee... bebe wanga wa motema eee," which translates to "baby baby, you are the seed of my heart," reinforces the idea that love is a powerful force that connects people in a deep and meaningful way.
The rest of the song talks about the challenges and beauty of love. The lines "pasi eleki.nabungi nzela nzoto esila ngai nionso eee nakoma ndenge.nakoma bwange" talk about the obstacles that lovers may face in their journey, but the refrain "bebe wanga wa motema eee" reminds the listener that love is worth fighting for. The verse "mama yo nde mayi ya posa, kitisa mitema reviser cas na nga eee erick kudia ooo" conveys the idea that the singer's mother is the source of his wisdom and strength in matters of love.
Overall, Koffi Olomidé's Dulcinée is an ode to the power and beauty of love. It portrays love as a powerful force that can transform any situation and bring light even in the darkest moments.

Moi encore et toujours en 2024!!! J'étais en 2 ème année au secondaire quand cette chanson était sortie. Et ça me rappelle mon coup de foudre de l'époque. Une lycéenne à Kinshasa, RDC.
