Forget About You
Kolby Cooper Lyrics

Staring outside as the rain falls down
Trynna find a way to convince you to turn around
Now my heart is broken and theres tears running down my face
Shoulda listened to your warnings, maybe you would've stayed

Now I'm out here driving just a little too fast,
Screaming your name and beating my dash,
Loosing my mind at every light,
Telling myself it'll be just fine.
Running outta space to fight this pain
I can't take no more, i'm going insane
Dont know what else I can do to help me:
Forget about you

Now my heads as empty as the bottom of this glass
I guess youre good as gone, theres no chance youre coming back
Traded the ring I bought you for another round
So I can watch your memory fade away and drown

Now I'm out here driving just a little too fast,
Screaming your name and beating my dash,
Loosing my mind at every light,
Telling myself it'll be just fine.
Running outta space to fight this pain
I can't take no more, i'm going insane
Dont know what else I can do to help me:
Forget about you

Yeah, forget about you

I'm out here driving just a little too fast,
Screaming your name and beating my dash,
Loosing my mind at every light,
I keep telling myself it'll be just fine.
Running outta space to fight this pain
I can't take no more, i'm going insane
Dont know what else I can do to help me:
Forget about you

Forget about you
Yeah, forget about you

Overall Meaning

The song "Forget About You" by Kolby Cooper is a perfect depiction of a heartbroken person trying to forget their past love. The lyrics portray the image of a man who is crying and screaming his lover's name while driving in the rain. He admits that he should have listened to her warnings and regrets it now that she is gone. The pain is too intense to bear, and he is willing to do anything to forget her, even though he has run out of space to fight this pain.

The chorus of the song is particularly interesting because it is an indication of how much the singer is struggling with his emotions. He is driving too fast, screaming his lover's name, and losing his mind at every light. He is telling himself that everything will be fine, but deep down, he knows it's not. The final verse sees the singer drowning his sorrows in alcohol and trying to forget the memories of his past love but to no avail.
