From there he went on to become a successful solo artist and song writer for many successful musicians and rappers. At one point in early 2008 he was the number 1 independent artist according to myspace.com. He held the slot for a record setting 28 weeks, and would have maintained it longer had his account not been hacked and deleted by anonymous members of the image sharing forum known as 4chan. This event was almost career ending for KOLGATE, he had to essentially start fresh, and after putting in so much work prior, he was tired and did it slowly.
Near the end of 2008 his music, and attitude took a drastic turn after he was involved in what he calls, "a love story he will never write his way out of". He created a band, and began making music "just to do it". With no intention of "making it". But it worked in his favor anyways... Now as the front man for the Alternative/Hardcore band TRAP HOUSE RAVE! KOLGATE has gained a new reputation and fan base. And after 2+ years with THR! he's also beginning to make more solo music and this is only the beginning.
