Though the aforementioned hit single earned much success, particularly in the U.K. where it spent many weeks on the charts and peaked at #5, it also left the group saddled with the 'one hit wonder' label outside of Canada & Brasil. Yet, from the same album, he returned to the Canadian charts with another original/cover combination, "Puss N' Boots/These Boots (Are Made For Walkin')". The track included resung interpolation snippets of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" and Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'". Another single, "Harry Houdini", failed to chart completely in America, but scored a Top 40 placing in Canada and also peaked at #14 in the New Zealand Singles Chart.
Wynne, who sang on 6 of 9 tracks from 'Move to Move', left shortly after its release at the end of 1989. Wynne did not pursue a solo career & currently owns a printing business since 2010. Harris released two more albums under the group's original name "Syntonic" & "VIDA!" taking on all lead vocals. He then went on to form the eurodance inspired group Outta Control together with musicians Kimberley Wetmore and Rachid. He also later became a celebrated remixer under the moniker Thunderpuss. There once was a time and there once was a way
We had somethin' going and to my dismay
Attention to me seemed to drift though I don't know where
And when we're alone seems there's nothing to say
I bring up the topic you push it away
Why do I feel you're using me?
Are we an item or are we just two?
I need some commitments' all I ask of you
Your lifestyle can change
Don't be afraid what you think's in store
I know what's on your mind you've got lots to lose
Your shallow acquaintances what's there to choose
You won't get too deep even though I'm worth so much more
So think about it carefully
Smile for the while and let's be jolly
We shouldn't be so melancholy
Come along and share the good times while we can
(Go! Rock!) Do you want to hustle?
(Freak, that's right) Do you want to salsa?
(That's right! Rock!) Do you want to hustle?
(Freak, that's right, rock!) Do you want to salsa?
If that's how you want it, that's how it'll be
There's no use in tryin' or making you see
That love don't come easy you don't know what it's about
To get things together won't take any pain
Don't need to see, hear, from you never again
From this day on lesson learned no more games count me out
And you know what I talk about
Smile for the while and let's be jolly
We shouldn't be so melancholy
Come along and share the good times while we can
I know now is the time that I went to find something new
You know it's your crime that I'm out to find someone too
Ohh, yeah
The lyrics to Kon Kan's song "I Beg Your Pardon" are about a relationship that has lost its spark and direction. The singer in the song is filled with confusion and uncertainty about the state of their relationship. They feel neglected as their partner has seemingly lost interest in them and avoids intimate conversations. The singer is desperate for a commitment and wants to know whether the relationship is worth pursuing, but their partner seems apathetic and avoids making any promises.
The chorus of the song offers a brief escape from the confusion and melancholy the singer is feeling. They suggest that they forget their problems and enjoy the good times while they can. The singer is almost pleading with their partner to share moments of joy and temporarily forget about their issues. However, the upbeat chorus is short-lived as the singer concludes that they must move on and find someone else. The singer recognizes that they deserve more than someone who is unwilling to commit, and while they are sad to leave, they are ultimately ready to find a new partner who better appreciates them.
Overall, the lyrics of the song highlight the lack of communication and commitment in a relationship and the importance of knowing when to move on. It is a relatable story of heartbreak and self-discovery that many can relate to.
