The name Kontravoid belongs on a limited run cassette circa 1980-something,… Read Full Bio ↴The name Kontravoid belongs on a limited run cassette circa 1980-something, the type of tape buried in lost upstate dustbins of pre-MIDI analog electronics, wedged between Cabaret Voltaire and Das Ding. The dark industrial and new wave influences are strong on ex-Crystal Castles drummer Cam Findlay’s new project—his voice is scary, like an echoing underwater growl—but the underlying pop melodies always afford a degree of breathing room. The artist Felix Kalmenson has already produced two great Kontravoid music videos: “Native State,” the album’s most instantly rewarding song (owing to interestingly doubled male-female vocals) and its most aggressive, “Killed in Action.” Kontravoid is on sale now from Bandcamp and iTunes, courtesy of Tarantula X.

Got to KontraVoid through Boy Harsher.
I met boy Harsher on a very special time of my life, just when I moved from my homeland to another country.
On top of that, My father died, so, Boy Harsher was kind of a Morphine to my mind.
By the end of the crazy year of 2020, I saw a Storie from Boy Harsher where they cited Kontravoid, so, another amazing musical finding for another dark year.

Very unique and true song with a wildly interesting video that reminds me of the 1980’s. VHS tape effects and the beats of the song give me the feeling of my favorite Industrial bands. Total unexpected BadAss music video discovery!
