Blame
Korn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Hanging on my every word
It's getting ugly
So I'm ugly
Tear me from your heart
Tearing me apart
Being alone is what you fear
Are you lonely?
Yes, lonely
Tear me from your heart
Tearing me apart
Rolling, and throwing, consoling
Everything that goes this far
Joking and hoping, revolting
All that shit, that's who you are
Hoping and scolding, revolving
Peel it back, reveal the scar
Loathing, exploding, controlling
This is what you really are
The time is coming, gone insane
You're feeling happy, won the game
The time is coming, a bed of flames
Your life is over and you're to blame
The time is coming, you've gone insane
You're feeling happy, you've won the game
The time is coming, a bed of flames
Your life is over and you're to blame
Rolling, and throwing, consoling
Everything that goes this far
Joking and hoping, revolting
All that shit, that's who you are
Hoping and scolding, revolving
Peel it back, reveal the scar
Loathing, exploding, controlling
This is what you really are
Rolling, and throwing, consoling
Everything that goes this far
Joking and hoping, revolting
All that shit, that's who you are
Hoping and scolding, revolving
Peel it back, reveal the scar
Loathing, exploding, controlling
This is what you really are
"Blame" by Korn is a song that explores the complexities of personal relationships and the ugly side of human emotions. It begins with the singer telling someone that they are foolish for hanging on to his every word, and he acknowledges that things are getting ugly because of this. He asks the person to tear him from their heart, as his presence is tearing them apart emotionally.
The second verse has the singer reflecting on how he thought this person had disappeared, but it turns out they were just afraid of being alone. He asks them if they are lonely, and when they confirm that they are, he once again asks to be removed from their heart.
The chorus is a warning that time is running out, and there will be consequences for not dealing with their issues. It describes the person going insane and feeling happy because they think they've won the game, but in reality, their life will end in flames and they'll have no one to blame but themselves.
The repeated phrases at the end of the song serve as a reminder that the person's true nature has been exposed - they are manipulative and controlling, they make jokes at others' expense, and they are filled with loathing and rage.
Overall, "Blame" is a commentary on the toxic nature of some relationships, and the inevitability of consequences for those who refuse to break free from them.
