Buried so far away
Into my life of nothing
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Sick of the same old thing
I am so high always
Burying my life so slowly
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
It opens my mind to feelings
Can't face boredom without something
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Re-entering my head
Feeling like I'm God
With the world around me
Can't you feel this pain?
Reaming through my heart
Screaming through my voice
Nothing I can kill
The stinging of my heart, ah
Can't you feel my heart, ah
Can't you take my heart away?
Tired heart
Goodbye
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury pain
Sick of the same old thing
So I dig a hole, bury
Pain
Pain
Pain
Pain
Pain
Pain

Pain
The lyrics to Korn's song Chi describe a person who is tired and sick of living the same monotony and routine every day. They are so buried in their nothingness that they resort to burying their pain in a hole so deep that it closes their minds and shuts out boredom. The repetitive use of "bury pain" highlights how the singer is trying to escape the difficulties and pain of their daily life by dissociating from them. The chorus "Sick of the same old thing, so I dig a hole, bury pain" creates a theme of escapism that has been translated throughout the lyrics.
Furthermore, the lyrics suggest that the singer is high and feels disconnected from the world around them. When they "re-enter their head," they feel invincible like a god. The stinging pain felt by the singer is conveyed in the chorus with "Can't you feel this pain?" The desperation for someone to understand and share their pain is evident throughout the song. As the song progresses, it becomes more desperate, and the singer declares that their tired heart has to say goodbye.
Overall, the song reflects the monotony and pain that comes with daily struggles that can lead to hopelessness and the need for escapism. It shows that sometimes we all need to find our place of peace and seek out an escape that helps us get through the pain and monotony of life.
