For the things that you will hide
What's the problem? Can't you seem to
Search through these problems that haunt and taunt you?
I smile
While you're afraid
You run
Do you ever see outside your fears?
Thinking about your life
Thinking about your inner fear?
Do you ever see outside your fears?
Thinking about your life
Thinking about your inner fear?
I'd like to search inside
For the things that you will hide
What's the problem? Can't you seem to
Open your body, let me touch you
Do you ever see outside your fears?
Thinking about your life
Thinking about your inner fear?
Do you ever see outside your fears?
Thinking about your life
Thinking about your fear
I'd love you to see the life you have disguised
The world of things that hurt you, kept all these useless lies
I want you to fear, fill you on up inside
Once I took you in, I'll throw you out next time
I tried
You win
My life
Is ripping your heart out and destroying my pain (go)
Do you ever see outside your fears?
Thinking about your life
Thinking about your inner fear?
Do you ever see outside your fears? (I'm fine)
Thinking about your life (I'm fine)
Thinking about your inner fear? (I'm fine)
Do you ever see outside your fears?
Thinking about your life
Thinking about your inner fear?
Do you ever see outside your fears?
Thinking about your life
The lyrics of Korn's song "Lies" express a desire to connect deeply with another person, to understand their hidden thoughts and emotions. The singer wants to search inside the other person and find the things that they are hiding. He acknowledges that they are afraid, running away from their problems rather than facing them. He urges them to see past their fears, to think about their life and their inner fears.
The singer also expresses frustration with the other person's reluctance to open up. He wants to touch them, to feel their body, but they are unwilling. He knows that the other person is disguising their true self, hiding their pain and fear behind useless lies. He wants them to face their fear, to feel it fully and let it fill them up inside.
In the final lines of the song, the singer admits defeat. He has tried to help the other person, but they have won. His life is now consumed with pain and heartache. This paints a bleak picture of a failed attempt at a deep and meaningful connection with someone.
