Pretty
Korn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Wait
But I don't realize
Small white legs
Broke
The pain between her thighs
I see your pretty face
What a disgrace
Who do I feel sorry for?
Skin so cold
How could someone steal a life?
Takes the blame
Wait
I got some shit to say
I see your pretty face
Smashed against the bathroom floor
What a disgrace
Who do I feel sorry for?
Smashed and raped
Not again, this is a real crime
What a pretty face
Who do I feel sorry for?
Wait, something
Now rips my
Heart and takes
My soul, I
Wait, too late
Now, I feel
Hurt inside
Take my soul away
Away (away)
I see your pretty face
Smashed against the bathroom floor
What a disgrace
Who do I feel sorry for?
Smashed and raped
Not again, this is a real crime
What a pretty face
Who do I feel sorry for?
The lyrics to Korn's song "Pretty" are a chilling portrayal of sexual assault and the traumatic aftermath of the victim. The song's verses describe a violent attack with the victim's legs broken and the pain between her thighs. The chorus repeats the disturbing image of the victim's "pretty face" smashed against the bathroom floor, highlighting the brutality of the assault. The lyrics express the singer's confusion and anger at the crime, wondering who to feel sorry for.
The song's bridge intensifies the emotion as the singer deals with the immediate aftermath of the attack. The lyrics describe feeling raped inside and the death of his soul. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the impact that this assault has on both the victim and the singer. The song ends with a sense of hopelessness, as the singer struggles to come to terms with the tragedy.
