Wish You Could Be Me
Korn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I cannot maintain as the shit ozzes out of my brain
I wish you could be me, and then this you would see
How tired I am and how she kept the best of me
At least you could look at me while you are raping me
You are taking my life and sellin' it tee hee
Why should I complain? At least it helps my pain
I am going insane, this shit is all about pain
I cannot maintain as the shit ozzes out of my brain
I wish you could be me, and then this you would see
How tired I am and how she kept the best of me
At least you could look at me while you're raping me
At least you could look at me while you're raping me
You fucking pussy
The lyrics to Korn's song Wish You Could Be Me portray the intense and overwhelming feelings of pain, exhaustion, and victimization. The singer of the song expresses that they are losing their mind as a result of the constant pain they are experiencing. They cannot keep it together and feel like their brain is oozing out of their head. The repeated phrase "I wish you could be me" suggests that the singer feels like no one really understands the severity of their situation and that they would like others to experience what they are going through as a form of empathy and validation.
The lyric "How tired I am and how she kept the best of me" suggests that the singer has been hurt or betrayed by someone they were close to, possibly a romantic partner who took advantage of them or deceived them in some way. The mention of being raped is also a disturbing and troubling aspect of the song, as it indicates that the singer feels completely powerless and violated by their situation. However, the shocking and vulgar language used in the lyric "At least you could look at me while you're raping me" is likely intended to shock listeners and grab their attention, rather than condone or romanticize sexual violence.
Overall, the song Wish You Could Be Me is a powerful and emotional expression of pain and frustration, fueled by the intense and heavy sound of Korn's music. It is a song that acknowledges the difficulties of life and the challenges we all face, but also suggests that everyone's experiences are unique and deeply personal.
